Set on the village green, amidst the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and being just a short drive from Richmond, this pet-friendly abode is a charming base for families and friends seeking a rural getaway.

This reverse-level property is ready to be explored, with two generously sized bedrooms – a double and a twin – situated on the ground floor and served by a shower room.

Make your way up to the first floor to discover a light and airy kitchen/diner, fully equipped with all the essentials for a week away – there’s even a dishwasher so you won’t have to raise a finger when cleaning up!

Cross the threshold into the sitting room, where you can look out to extensive open countryside views or at night-time, a dark sky full of stars.

Put your feet up and catch up on your favourite shows, all whilst the woodburning stove gently heats the space.

Enjoy alfresco breakfasts from the enclosed patio space before heading out the door to explore the local village and open countryside.

Just a moment’s stroll away lies a local village shop where you can pick up the essentials, along with a friendly pub, Cross Keys Inn, ideal for enjoying a pint or a bar meal after a long walk or day out on your bicycle - the local area is compelling for cyclists of all abilities.

Amble along the river, following the Teesdale Way trail, allowing you to explore the nearby market towns of Barnard Castle, home to the Bowes Museum, or any of the many other towns and villages in North Yorkshire, the Durham Dales or further West to the Lake District.

For a day of culture and luxury, take a short trip to the historic Georgian town of Richmond, where you can wander the cobbled streets and admire the buildings of both medieval and Georgian design.

Stroll down the cobbled market square to the Norman castle and the majestic Bowes Museum, or explore Richmond's old town with its charming shops, eateries, and bars, all of which make for a wonderful day out.

For younger visitors, attractions in the area include Lightwater Valley Theme Park, Beamish Living Museum or maybe the Forbidden-Corner; ‘the strangest place in the world’.

Whatever you choose to do, you’ll be sure to make memories to treasure during your stay at The Old Milk House.
