Escrick is an attractive old village settled just off the A19 between Selby and York. The village is surrounded by agricultural land, much of which forms part of the 8,000 acre Escrick Park Estate, which has been privately owned and lovingly nurtured by the Forbes Adam Family for over 300 years. Within the village there is a farm shop and a convenience store, three pubs, The Black Bull, The Fat Abbot, and the Escrick & Deighton Club, along with the Sang Thai restaurant. Six miles north lies the medieval city of York, home to remarkable attractions; rising majestically over the city's skyline, the York Minster stands as a testament to architectural brilliance, the National Railway Museum York is a haven for locomotive enthusiasts or step into the York Castle Museum and be transported through the ages, as you wander through its beautifully reconstructed period rooms. Yorkshire is rich in stately homes, with Harewood House and Castle Howard just two of several within an hour’s drive.
