“Deborah and Paul perfect hosts.”
thistle cottage was perfect for us
thistle cottage was perfect for us
“Paul and Deborah were exceptional hosts, this is an absolute hidden gem.”
The photos do not even do the holiday cottage justice, no quality has been scrimped on at all with furnishings / bedding / towels and accessories provided. Very luxurious to sleep in, such peaceful surroundings, the hot tub is amazing and maintained every day. We will definitely be back!!
“Debs and Paul were extremely lovely hosts; nothing was too much trouble.”
The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable with a superb hot tub of course.
“Lovely cottage, high standard of accommodation, would highly recommend.”
Complimentary doggie towels and biscuits. Complimentary milk, coffee, tea and a lovely welcome pack of fresh eggs, banana cake and loaf of bread. What more can you say.., would stay again.
“We stayed here for our 10th Wedding Anniversary weekend.”
It was truly amazing. The owners and their family were the perfect hosts, there were treats for us and the dog on arrival including the most amazing cake expertly baked by their eldest daughter! The cottage was immaculate and there was everything needed to relax and do as little or as much as you wanted to do. There is an enclosure for dogs to run off their lead - for us this ran off a bit of energy off ours before we went out for the day in the car with him. Nothing was too much trouble for Deborah and Paul and they even ensured our food delivery arrived ok. We would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here and hope to return in the very near future! Thank you so much Xx
“The cottage was homely and well equipped with welcoming owners.”
There were lovely touches for a dog owner with towels for the dogs and treats for them, as well as a home made cake for the humans! The cottage was well situated between Whitby and Scarborough with an equal drive to both; there were plenty of places welcoming dogs as well. We would definitely return.
“The owners Paul and Deborah were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them if you had any queries.”
The cottage was much nicer that the photos given on the website. The cleanliness was 110% and could think of nothing that wasn't in the cottage that you would need. The surroundings were beautiful and we were greeted on arrival with homemade banana bread and a welcome pack. The leavers breakfast is a great idea. I will be recommending to friends and family and booking again for the near future.
“Paul & Deb were the perfect hosts for our stay, we’re a couple with 2 dogs.”
We were met with dog treats, fresh dog towels, fresh free range eggs, loaf of bread, freshly baked banana loaf, butter and milk. Not expected and all lovely. Paul looked after our hot tub every day to make sure it was clean and up to temperature. Each of the 2 cottages has their own hot tub on the patio which aren’t on the pics yet but I assure you they’re there and perfect. Deb recommended a lovely beach walk from Whitby to Sandsend which we did on our first day and it was perfect. The cottage was immaculate throughout both in cleanliness and facilities and I’m sure if anything wasn’t to your liking Deb & Paul would resolve it straight away. We will definitely be booking again.
“Wonderful hosts, welcome pack on arrival (fresh eggs, loaf, cake, milk).”
They provided information about the local area which was appreciated. Great week away.
“The cottage is in a lovely quiet location.”
It was spotlessly clean and more than exceeded our expectations plus the hot tub was an added bonus. Our holiday was enhanced by the owners who were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend.
“Great location for Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Ravenscar, Scarborough and for walking on the coastal paths or on the moors.”
The owners, Deborah and Paul, were very friendly and helpful.
Deborah, Paul and family were so welcoming and friendly and have thought of everything to make you stay as restful and relaxing as possible. Extremely clean and comfortable, furnished to a high standard with lovely taste. There was lots of information about things to do, places to eat and local walks. There was everything you could need in the kitchen, and if you think of someting that isn't provided, Debroah and Paul will supply it. Score a ten in every area - thanks so much, we will be back - Clare and Maddi x
“The hosts were the most welcoming, and the most lovely people you could wish to meet ,nothing was to much trouble to them .”
The cottage is equipped with everything needed. I have no hesitation in recommending the cottage for anyone. It’s a 5 star vote from me !
“These cottages are of an exceptionally high standard and the views from the cottage are outstanding!”
The beds are so comfortable (I will be purchasing one of those mattresses) we slept very well. We were greeted with home made banana bread, tea bags, coffee, butter, milk, sugar, bread and oil were all supplied for us and some delicious fresh eggs from their own hens. Every utensil you could ever need in the kitchen was also supplied. The hot tub was amazing too, we spent far too long in it :) The owners were very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much for them. They even volunteered to take us into Whitby one evening to save us from waiting for a taxi. If you go to this place you will not be disappointed , we will be returning soon. Thank you.
