"The Barn was ideal for our family get together including for the two younger children ."
The views were magnificent and there were many walks in the area. It was great to have 4 bathrooms as there were 10 of us . Bedrooms were clean with fresh linen and towels. A great place for a weeks break .

"Had a fantastic 3 nights at this delightful house with family 8 adults, 2 babies and not forgetting the dogs."
Plenty of room, clean & warm and really can't fault it. Irene (housekeeper) called to make sure we had everything we needed. Would return and not hesitate to recommend.

"It was our 60th Anniversary and we wanted a place to commemorate it, and this was the ideal place."
We had 9 people to be accommodated and the barn did this. It was warm and comfortable, All the facilities were spot on. We were able to cook our meals in an oven or a microwave, and the dish washer made cleaning the plates and bowls easy. The sleeping accommodation was brilliant, every room had a bath or shower and the beds gave all of us a good nights sleep. The sitting room had 3 large comfortable sofas all facing a television. I am disabled and unable to have a bath so I use a shower, the bedroom we were in only had a shower, but it was not disabled friendly, perhaps it could have a fixed chair and a rail to hold onto when a person stands up. Another small fixture would be some shelves, we had acceseries with no place to put them, especially in the bath room. Other than these small fixtures everything else diserved ten stars. Thank you for making our Diamond Anniversary so wonderful.

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Tithe Barn."
Clean, tidy and very spacious as described, perfect for my celebration with my family. Although weather was’nt great over the weekend, the underfloor heating in lounge was lovely to come home to after visits to various activities. The only thing we felt missing which we have found useful in others Sykes properties over the years was one or two board games to keep the kids ( & adults) entertained and off their phones. Certainly not a criticism simply a suggestion as we could/should have brought our own but bringing everything but the kitchen sink it was quite simply an oversight on our part. Final point all family members were able to have there own room and were suitably impressed by how large and well laid out it was, a tasteful barn conversion.

The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort which crosses the river. The medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Known affectionately as 'Barney’ by residents and visitors alike, the town boasts cobble streets, yards and back lanes, which were first laid out in the 12th century. The nearby Bowes Museum is well worth a visit and a wonderful way to spend a day wandering around this beautiful building and experiencing the fascinating exhibitions. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep of this lovely market town, with woodland walks and cycle routes and the Lake District, the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, and the River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are all within easy reach.
