Couldn”t be nearer the shops and restaurants.

  • "The apparent is very modern and extremely clean and tidy."

Everything you need is there. The location is a 3 minute walk to the main town and a 5 minute walk through gardens to the beach. Parking is on street but we managed to park outside every time used used the car. Would highly recommend.

Would of been nice to have a later check out as we were travelling without the kids so we could enjoy a lie in as check out was at 10am, we requested a 11am check out but this was denied.

  • "The apartment was excellent apart from very little storage both in the bedrooms and in the kit hen."

The parking was terrible as it was on the road, never moved my car all week because of it.

  • "The flat was well presented although a few things would have been helpful eg."

a teapot, cleaning agents for the kitchen and glass table. There was little storage for food in the kitchen. This was the same in the main bedroom. I noticed a comment was made in the visitors about the feather filled cushions back in September but they cushions were still there and since I am asthmatic this was not good. It's strange to find feather products in hired accommadation these days. We liked the postion of the flat and had a good holiday. We would hire this property again.

  • "The master bedroom was smaller that we realised with no storage."

We had problems with the heating and underfloor heating, simple instructions manuals would have assisted and again with the oven/hob. Plenty of info regarding takeaways and what to do in the local area but nothing on how to get the most out of the accommodation. The TV did not work, the owner brought a replacement but this was much smaller and when the TV is an important part to winding down after 10 mile daily walks it was very disappointing. Overall I felt that the accommodation was overpriced.

  • "Lovely flat in a great location."

Kitchen well equipped but lacked storage space. The master bedroom is quite small, the bed is not a standard double and again it really lacked useful storage space. The twin room was lovely. The cushions on the sofa were all feather filled which isn't advertised and meant we couldn't use them due to asthma and allergies, so would be useful to add this to the description of the flat. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for dog friendly accommodation in Filey :)

We had a very comfortable stay, the apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything needed for a week's stay whilst being close to shops and eating places and you can just about see the sea from the lounge window!

Perfectly situated and handy for the centre of town as well as being close to the Crescent gardens and seafront and beach. We will have no hesitation in returning to 20 Rutland Street in the future. Jim & Susan H, Bingley, West Yorkshire.

  • "The flat is in an ideal location for the beach and amenities of Filey and is beautifully decorated and equipped."

Storage for food is limited but with Tesco only a five minute stroll buying daily is not a problem. Although the parking is on street and gets quite busy we always found a space when returning to the flat from a day out exploring the area. Our only slightly negative comment is that only one set of keys is provided which is a pain if the guests want to go off and do different things.

Beautifully renovated a few minor issue to make this 5 star. Lovely beds and bedding. Lots of lovely cushions on sofa. Enough table and crockery for 4 people. Lovely to have a dishwasher. Mu dog struggled because I am not active enough to match home life with no garden. If your used to popping out more frequently and don't mind stairs still perfect dog friendly place well appointed with minor tweaks owner is aware of x

About the location

FILEY

Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.

Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. Gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and minke whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
