The property

Found in the rugged and windswept village of Flamborough is this cute and compact cottage, 2 Dog & Duck Square, near to one of Yorkshire's most dramatic coastlines.

Best suited for a couple who enjoy the outdoors and fresh air, and who own some walking boots, this one bedroom mid-terrace property will be a sweet escape.

The front door opens into the sitting room, where you will spend the evening curled up on the sofa with your other half, choosing something to watch on the Smart TV for a quiet night in, or maybe an evening of reading in one of the armchairs, while the electric fire warms you up.

Through to the kitchen/diner, you can sit at the table and chairs and feast on a tasty dish cooked up in the kitchen, for a romantic meal, before taking a glass of wine out onto the rear shared patio on a balmy summer evening, and enjoy the rest of the natural light.

When the night has drawn to a close, walk upstairs to the king-size bed, the room complete with a wardrobe for all of your personal belongings, while the bathroom sits opposite containing a bath with shower over, for an indulgent soak or a quick wash.

Flamborough is a haven for those who love to get outside, with its white cliffs that tower over beaches which are great for hiking and birdwatching, with the beaches of North and South Landing offering brilliant rock-pooling, with the chance to spot seals or even peregrine falcons!

Flamborough is home to the oldest complete lighthouse structure in the UK, built in 1669, although it is believed to have never been lit, whilst a newer lighthouse built in 1806 is still used today as a waypoint for deep sea vessels and coastal traffic, both worth a visit for lighthouse lovers.

2 Dog & Duck Square is a cute little property, perfect for a retreat to Yorkshire with your other half.

About the location

Bridlington 4 miles; Filey 7 miles; Scarborough 18 miles.

The pretty village of Flamborough occupies a superb setting, perched on a picturesque peninsula on the East Coast of Yorkshire, 4 miles from Bridlington. Housing traditional fishermen's cottages and a small selection of welcoming pubs and restaurants, Flamborough also has much to offer the rambler, historian and birdwatcher. There are spectacular cliffs, which form an eight mile stretch of Heritage coastline, and at Flamborough Head, stand two historic lighthouses, one of which is the oldest one in Britain, built in 1674. To the north of the village, the magnificent 400 feet high cliffs are home to one of the largest colonies of nesting sea birds in England. Discover the puffins at Bempton, follow the fascinating natural trails at South Landing and the wooded ravine at Danes Dyke, or explore the smugglers’ caves at North Landing. Enjoy a spot of fishing or a boat trip to explore the sea caves. Flamborough Head is a wonderful place for anyone who enjoys beautiful coastal scenery and bracing sea air.
