  • "The property was beautifully clean and comfortable with lots to do in the area, however when we arrived one on the front lounge windows was open, 13 cushions were piled on the small sofa (how to arrange them?"

). Also no note to tell us freezer and cooker hood didn’t work and there was no dishcloth, no oven gloves and only one tea towel.

Thank you for your lovely comments we are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday. I’m so sorry about the cushions in the living room that was my fault as was cleaning the cottage myself that day. The Freezer had been turned off from the inside for some reason again my apologies as it is working fine when turned back on. If you’d called I would have popped down and sorted this for you straight away. I provide cloths and scrubbers along with the dishwasher and dishwashing tablets, the oven gloves I thought were in the drawers of the kitchen again my apologies these will be replaced as are not there anymore. I hope this didn’t spoil your holiday thank you and kind Regards Tracey. Property Owner

  • "Flamborough and the surrounding areas are lovely, we have had some great walking."

Property spotlessly clean, but a few basics missing - eg, cafetiere and cups, non-slip shower mat and bath mat. Parking a bit of a problem for a bigger car as the driveway is shared with a van and trailer driver - so a bit tight!! Very upset to be falsely accused and charged an extra £20 ( which Sykes have very kindly paid for us ) for something we know we did not do.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you like our cottage and enjoyed your holiday. We do have parking at the rear of the property in front of the garage and also under the window, it states the driveway is shared in the guest information book. Bath mat and slip mat are kept in the bathroom cupboard. We provide cups, tea pot etc but no cafetière but I will buy one for any future guests wanting to use one. As for the additional costs incurred, my housekeeper sent pictures of the bedding which had paw marks and dog hair in the bedroom, which she assured me were not there the week before. I ask all guests not to have pets on the furniture or upstairs and can only go by what I have been told and pictures sent. Thank you. Kind Regards. Property Owner

Flamborough is a beautiful part of the Yorkshire coast and the locality if the cottage is perfect for local restaurants and pubs. The only thing I would say is that check out time at 9.30 is the earliest we have ever had when staying in your cottages

It was spotlessly clean and really comfortable with everything you need for a perfect stay. I would highly recommend Lilly May. My only issue is the 9am check out time but I guess that this is standard due to Covid? It didn't spoil our stay though.

Thank you for your lovely comments we are so pleased you enjoyed your holiday at the cottage. In regards to the 9am check out I have is changed this now to 9.30am just to give guests a little more time to get ready for departure. Hope to see you again. Kind Regards. Property Owner

  • "The property is a house not a cottage."

It was very clean and had everything we needed. I didn't like the quilts on the beds as they kept slipping off and were noisy. Not sure if these were used due to COVID. I thought having to be out for 9:00 am was early, it is usually.10:00 am. The house was situated in a brilliant place to be able to walk to the shops/pubs.

Thank you for your comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your holiday. I have taken a look at the early checkout and have changed it to 9.30 am. The Duvet protector is there to protect guests due to the Government COVID rules put in place. Thank you, kind regards. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage, very well positioned for Flamborough head and Bridlington."

Nice pub "Seabirds Inn" 5 minutes walk, best to book a table as very popular. Couple of negatives, parking is on the road as the drive is shared - I feel this could of been made clearer, basic things like bin bags\tin opener\back door mat\bath mat\coat hooks were missing. Also when leaving we had to strip the beds and put in laundry bags which I dont think is necessary. Overall we had a nice holiday.

Thank you for your feedback, we are glad you like our cottage and enjoyed your holiday, we do have parking at the rear of the property and also under the window, as for stripping the beds, we were advised to ask all our guests to do this due to the Covid rules. Thank you, kind regards Property Owner

The only downside was parking as the driveway is actually shared so you have to park out front which was tight for an Audi A5. Smaller cars will have no problem.

The owner is very friendly and left us a nice welcome package too.The location is perfect for getting to the coast and there are lots of fabulous walks locally which comes in hand if you have a dog. Danes Dyke is a nature reserve just minutes down the road from the house. Filey with its lovely seafront is only half an hour away. Whitby is only just over an hour's drive away too. About the location

FLAMBOROUGH

Bridlington 4 miles; Filey 7 miles; Scarborough 18 miles.

The pretty village of Flamborough occupies a superb setting, perched on a picturesque peninsula on the East Coast of Yorkshire, 4 miles from Bridlington. Housing traditional fishermen's cottages and a small selection of welcoming pubs and restaurants, Flamborough also has much to offer the rambler, historian and birdwatcher. There are spectacular cliffs, which form an eight mile stretch of Heritage coastline, and at Flamborough Head, stand two historic lighthouses, one of which is the oldest one in Britain, built in 1674. To the north of the village, the magnificent 400 feet high cliffs are home to one of the largest colonies of nesting sea birds in England. Discover the puffins at Bempton, follow the fascinating natural trails at South Landing and the wooded ravine at Danes Dyke, or explore the smugglers’ caves at North Landing.
