The property

A lovely, stone-built, traditional terraced cottage, in the delightful village of Glaisdale, in the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

With glorious views over open countryside, this characterful Glaisdale cottage has been lovingly restored and furnished throughout and provides a comfortable holiday home for exploring this beautiful area, within fifteen minutes' drive of Whitby.

With stripped pine doors and beamed ceilings, this Glaisdale cottage has a warm and cosy sitting room with a woodburner, whilst stairs lead up to two charming cottage-style bedrooms, the double boasting a four poster.

With a homely feel throughout, the light, modern kitchen has large windows to take in the views, whilst outside there is a enclosed lawned garden and a patio - a lovely spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a balmy summer's evening.

A three minute stroll from this Glaisdale cottage, brings you to the local inn, which serves real ale and excellent food, whilst half a mile away is a renowned butcher's, Post Office and village shop.

This friendly village, with the River Esk meandering through it, is in an idyllic location, with numerous public footpaths, including the Coast to Coast long distance trail, passing the doorstep of this Glaisdale cottage.

Why not visit the Danby Moors Centre or take a trip back in time on the steam railway at Grosmont?

With many pretty coastal and inland villages to discover, including Staithes, Runswick Bay and Goathland, this Glaisdale cottage provides a good base to combine a country and seaside holiday.

About the location

Whitby 9 miles; Pickering 21 miles.

A peaceful village on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Glaisdale is set amongst beautiful countryside in the heart of the Esk Valley. The village itself has a post office in the general store, an excellent butcher (famed for his pork pies) and one hotel/pub, with restaurant. Further afield, Whitby and the coast are just 9 miles away whilst the quaint moorland villages of Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham and Thornton Dale and the market town of Pickering are all within easy touring distance. For something a little quieter, why not take a trip to the less-discover gem of Saltburn by the Sea, a charming, Victorian seaside resort. The terminus of the North York Moors Railway is at nearby Grosmont, inviting you to take a steam railway ride back in history through beautiful moorland scenery.
