About the property

Situated in an elevated position, enjoying beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, High View Cottage is a superb, stone-built, semi-detached cottage in the delightful village of Glaisdale, 10 miles from Whitby.

Tastefully decorated and furnished throughout, this spacious, three-storey property offers modern en-suite facilities whilst retaining many original features, such as beamed ceilings and a lovely fireplace in the dining room.

The dining room is a wonderful, open space, with a dining table seating six, a sofa set in front of a woodburning stove, plus patio doors that can be thrown open wide when the weather is fine.

As well as the sofa in the dining room, there is a kitchen with a table and chairs and a bright and airy separate sitting room featuring a double-sided woodburning stove that also heats the dining room and lots of windows letting in refreshing natural light along with a Smart TV.

The cottage has three bedrooms, the master of which is dual aspect and houses a double bed and its own en-suite shower room.

There is also a separate family bathroom, a shower room on the second floor, and a WC in the cloakroom on the ground floor, where you can hang your coats and scarves and leave your walking boots to dry.

The surrounding Esk Valley countryside is ideal for walkers and cyclists alike, but there?s no need to worry about getting a bit grubby while exploring, as the utility room houses a sink and a washing machine so you can clean off and not have to worry about packing lots of changes of clothes!

The gravelled and paved patio area outside provides the ideal place for a relaxing evening drink, or you can take dinner outdoors and enjoy alfresco dining in the sunshine.

With the charming steam railway at Grosmont nearby, and the seaside town of Whitby and numerous pretty coastal and inland villages all within easy reach, this delightful cottage has something for all the family.

About the location

Whitby 9 miles; Pickering 21 miles.

A peaceful village on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Glaisdale is set amongst beautiful countryside in the heart of the Esk Valley. The village itself has a post office in the general store, an excellent butcher (famed for his pork pies) and one hotel/pub, with restaurant. Further afield, Whitby and the coast are just 9 miles away whilst the quaint moorland villages of Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham and Thornton Dale and the market town of Pickering are all within easy touring distance. For something a little quieter, why not take a trip to the less-discover gem of Saltburn by the Sea, a charming, Victorian seaside resort. The terminus of the North York Moors Railway is at nearby Grosmont, inviting you to take a steam railway ride back in history through beautiful moorland scenery.
