About the location

Market Weighton 2 miles; Beverley 10 miles; Driffield 12 miles.

The small Yorkshire Wolds village of Goodmanham lies two miles from the market town of Market Weighton, and dates back to Stone Age times. This sleepy little village of old stone cottages is one of the oldest religious sites in the country. The village once housed a Pagan temple, the site of which is now home to the current Norman-style church. There is also a village inn. The long distance Wolds Way Walk runs through the village, which is surrounded by rolling hills and pretty countryside. Close by, the thriving market town of Market Weighton with picturesque Victorian and Georgian streets has amenities including local inns, tea rooms, individual shops and a weekly farmers’ market. Goodmanham is well situated for many attractions, including Beverley Minster, Yorkshire Air Museum, Sledmere House and Skipsea castle. The historic City of York is only 18 miles away and well worth a visit.
