  • "This is a very spacious and well-equipped cottage which delivers on its promise of accessibility."

Good-sized rooms and a wide hallway make it easy to navigate for those with impaired mobility or using walking aids. The location is in easy reach of both York and Selby, and of a range of museums, National Trust properties and gardens. The owners are on-site and very helpful. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your feedback, pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

Excellent facilities for disabled. It’s just not so easy to find disabled properties on your app, the filters are not easy to find.

  • "The cottage was amazing."

Facilities really good . Very spacious bedrooms, living room and kitchen diner. Area outside for the dogs to run about. The cottage had everything you would expect to find at home. The little touches made a great difference . On arrival Greer was a lovely home made lemon drizzle cake as well as milk , tea coffee and sugar. The cottage was within easy access to explore the area . We did the Railway museum, Diggerland a must for small and big kids , the seaside and the Black Sheep Brewery Tour. We could have done much more but only a short break. Loved it and will be going back .

  • "Lovely holiday bungalow with delightful landscaped grounds."

Cake was a welcome treat on arrival. Good base for travelling to see the stately homes and gardens. York itself a must for visitors- pity the Minster started to charge for entry - I know maintenance is a problem but voluntary giving is preferable. Would certainly recommend these holiday bungalows(3) on this site, spacious and the mobility/disabled aids a great plus point. Major road (A19) in close proximity to get to your holiday visits (although be sure to check for road works - we were seriously delayed for minor repairs to A19.) All in all, a delightful experience which exceeded our expectations. Weather too beautiful for September.

  • "The accuracy provided, was not only above expectations, the cottage well stocked kitchen was better than most homes have, ample room for myself to get around in my wheelchair being an amputee, and very spacious."

There were only two of us in a six bear that cottage but even so, you would have plenty of room. We arrived to be met with tea/coffee and a homemade orange drizzle cake, and reading through the visitors book it seems to be every booking..

It is handy for getting into York either by car or using the nearby park and ride. The owners of the cottage are friendly and helpful and we appreciated their providing the basics for a cup of tea on arrival and a delicious lemon drizzle cake. We really enjoyed our stay.

  • "The cottage we stayed at was set in beautiful surroundings."

It was peaceful, and close to many places of interest to visit. A little difficult to find if you follow satnav directions to the letter, but a quick phone call to owners solved that. Some discomfort for the seating and taking cushions is recommended. Cottage excellent for disabled and wheelchair users, and plenty of room to spread out. Bedrooms spacious. Great parking facilities. Dogs welcome and room for them to roam ( leads recommended). Owners very welcoming and there were basics (tea, coffee and milk) on hand. Also a big luscious cake in the fridge.

They enjoyed the large grassy areas for games and the paths for their scooters. It was so easy to get to York for the Railway Museum by the Park and Ride.

Our Grandchildren loved the space outside to kick their football and the adults (4 of us) were impressed with all aspects of location, facilities and comforts. Rod & Peggy were most helpful and thoroughly nice people. WE hope to be able to go again and have no hesitation in recommending Pound Cottage.
