  • "A beautiful farm house in an ideal location."

We stayed with extended family and were surprised just how big the house was! All rooms were clean, light and airy. The garden was beautiful and we were lucky to spend many summer evenings outside playing football. We also spotted a lot of wildlife including deers, peacock and hares. Ideally situated for visiting York, Scarborough and the North Yorkshire moors. Thank you for a wonderful holiday home.

  • "High Mill was an excellent house to stay in, with big airy rooms and tasteful decor yet maintained the character, charm and cosiness of the building."

Outside the garden and surrounding countryside are both peaceful and beautiful with much wildlife. Also it is very well placed to visit many and varied attractions in the area. And last but not least Fiona is a wonderful, warm host, providing us with all the information and friendliness (and cake!) needed for a fantastic holiday.

Lovely garden area with an impressive amount of wildlife. The owner was helpful without being intrusive. Probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in.

Very well equipped and extremely comfortable with lots of space for a large family inside and out. The host Fiona was a pleasure to meet and was lovely to have peacocks, hares and deer come through the garden. Well positioned with just a short drive to Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington. We cannot recommend this cottage enough we had a brilliant stay

Fiona the owner very friendly and helpful. Property lovely and clean. Spacious with lovely views over the garden with peacocks, pheasants and other birds running around. Well located for beaches, good walks, Yorkshire moors, York plus some good pubs. Really is a lovely place to stay. Will be back.

  • "We have just had a fantastic weekend away celebrating our parents ruby wedding anniversary at this beautiful cottage."

We have stayed in many cottages together over the years but none in such a fabulous setting, the garden was perfect for a large family and very private, thankfully the weather was unseasonably warm so we really got to make the most of it. The cottage itself was very well equipped and spotlessly clean, a real home from home. It’s unusual to find a holiday cottage where all 3 adult couples have equally sized bedrooms and this was a real bonus. We couldn’t recommend High Mill Cottage enough and are already planning our return stay! Thank you to Fiona for being so easy to deal with and the welcome cake xx

We were entertained by two resident male peacocks. Very peaceful weekend.

The garden and surrounding area is lovely, the cottage was delightful and Fiona the host was very welcoming. I would highly recommend High Mill Cottage for groups of friends looking for a staycation somewhere remote and picturesque.

Owners really friendly and helpful. Milk, butter and eggs in the fridge upon arrival along with a lovely cake. Plus tea, coffee and sugar. Big garden with peacocks wandering and the local hares popping in and playing. Lots to do in surrounding area, York and Scarborough not far away. Lovely walks around. • "House and grounds are brilliant with plenty of room for 8 guests including a 3yr old."

Thoroughly enjoyed our break and so close to coast fir day trips but still easy to reach York and all the sales/moors Yorkshire is famous for. Loved the seating area in kitchen/dining area away from tv room. The 2 bathrooms are a bonus although no shower cubicle in en-suite.

High Mill Cottage was a lovely house to stay in. It was very comfortable and well provided. We really appreciated having the separate sitting area from the TV area. It is a great spot to explore the surrounding area and Fiona had loads of suggestions too. We had a great week.

  • "The cottage was of such a high standard with everything you could ask for."

The host Fiona was so welcoming and the welcome pack was amazing. The peace and tranquillity that the cottage offers was out of this world with our own spring watch going on. Having a cuppa and having two peacocks walking across the grass was just some of the amazing wildlife we saw! Super walks from the cottage and a short drive to the coast, we felt very spoilt! We will certainly be going back and can highly recommend the cottage for all ages to enjoy!

We are absolutely amazed by this place has brilliant amenities. The place has cozy lounge with fireplace, beautiful kitchen and dining, spacious king size beds in rooms and second floor bedroom with en-suite and wardrobe. There are lots of space around the cottage too. Our girls had lovely time watching birds, bunnies and peacocks. The pictures doesn’t do justice to the beauty of this place. Everything is just so perfect, loved it. Thank you...
