  • "Sunday cottage was a lovely places to stay well equipped with everything you need spotless clean on arrival"

  • "Very comfortable and well-equipped."

We were very impressed by the heating and would like to know more about how it works. If this is an example of what an air source heat pump can achieve, then roll on the green revolution!

  • "I chose Sunday Cottage because my husband is sevrely disabled and reading what the owners said online about their personal experience of caring for a disabled person I felt confident that the accommodation would be suitable."

The disabled suite is very good except that the toilet did not flush well and the seat was very flimsy and loose. A major difficulty was getting my husband seated comfortably and a great deal of help was needed to get him up once he sat down. I took a riser chair for granted when I booked. Huge mistake and a major cause of difficulty during our stay. The Cottage is very attractive and well presented but there is a definitely room for improvement. I believe a riser chair has been ordered which is a very good thing for future users.

  • "Very clean, well equipped, warm and cosy."

Wet room and disabled facilities well provided. The only problem I had was that the cottage was situated high on a hill with steep access to and from. My partner is a big man in a wheelchair with only one leg and is constantly in a wheelchair. I am a very small, frail woman with arthritic wrists and without the help of relatives who joined us for the stay, it would have been impossible for me to push my partner from the car, up a very steep incline to the cottage. When I booked our stay at first there was only going to be the 2 of us. If that was the case, then we wouldn't have been able to access the property.

Very noisy on two days , builders doing the roof ,scaffold obscured views ,only taken down on day thee of our stay. Furniture not comfortable ,television gave you neck ache . We would not use the cottage again .

  • "Very surprised to find out the picture shows two rental units not one."

A chair for the disabled visitor to use is really an essential item that should be provided. Loved the location, beautiful walks including one that was ideal for a wheelchair user.

Really enjoyed all the walks and activities that the surroundings have to offer and to retreat into a comfortable cottage at the end of a long day.

  • "Sunday Cottage was perfect for our needs."

However, we felt a TV in the bedrooms upstairs would be welcome. The double bed mattress was in need of an upgrade, far too soft and a king size would be better. The rooms were spacious and could take a chair in the room also. The kitchen was well thought out and contained items that you might forget to put in your bag to bring with you like kitchen roll, kitchen foil etc.,the welcome pack was a lovely surprise. Any negatives are only personal and do not detract from the quality of the property. The underfloor heating is awesome. There are not many properties that cater for people with mobility issues in such a nice way, so, well done to the owners. It is definitely 5 star.

Everything we needed for our family break, including the bottle of wine which we enjoyed once the kids were in bed! Lots of space for everyone and lovely views across the countryside. Would recommend and hope to return.

Thank you for the wine, flowers and cake. Sunday Cottage was well thought out for anyone with mobility and care issues. Our son, Lee, really loved his stay here. A great location for visiting all areas. Great food at The Magpie and Alberts in Whitby; thanks for the recommendation Rod! Loved the Old School Coffee Shop in the village - excellent coffee and Lee loved watching the trains - 5 stars!

  • "Brilliant. We couldn't have asked for a nicer cottage."

Well equipped and spacious for Reece and his wheelchair. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. For a steam train enthusiast (Reece) he had a great time travelling on the train at the bottom of the hill. A highly recommended trip for fantastic views. Thank you so much Rod. We look forward to coming back again.
