  • "Excellent location 15 minutes from the railway station, 5 minutes from York Minister, if you fancy a wall walk 1 minute."

Good facilities within the flat as advertised but don't bring a hairdryer as one is provided. Moreover a supermarket right behind the flat, here's a hint apply for a Sainsbury nectar card and save some cash. Host leaves a bottle of Prosecco, nice touch.

  • "Loved the location and the fact that it had dedicated parking."

Everything we needed was there. There's not a lot you can do (apart from new windows but it's prob a listed building) but we found sitting on the couch our backs were cold due to the sash window, is it single glazed? Perhaps thermal curtains could be used in winter. Oh and the fan in bathroom was not working. But those small points did not detract us from having a great week in The Feversham, enjoyed it so much that we have already booked to stay again next December.

  • "Lovely Edwardian building, good parking, near to City centre."

The stair area had obviously been recently decorated and looked nice. However, the fire doors had filler in indicating where the handles had been moved, still rough and unpainted, and the corridor leading to our room smelled somewhat of damp. The door to our room creaked when opened and the first thing we noticed was the strong smell of sewage emanating from the bathroom area. The woodchip on the walls was reminiscent of 80's student accommodation and the bed was as soft as a marshmallow. OK if you like that sort of thing. The curtains weren't affixed properly so when you drew them, they met in the middle. None of the clocks worked and there were a few cobwebs strewn here and there. Sashcord windows could do with a paint but, in fairness, the kitchen was modern and ideal for purpose. Unfortunately we only stayed one night as ill health necessitated an early departure. That fact in no way influences my description.

It's a compact flat, ideal for a couple, with a smart TV and good WiFi. There's a separate well equipped kitchen with coffee machine, and a bathroom. The location, just outside Monk Bar, is convenient for main attractions such as York Minster, the NT Treasurer's House, and walks around the Bar Walls. We found the reserved parking space a bonus for touring from York.

It has all the necessary appliances including a Crok-pot, which coincidentally was identical to ours. The situation is fantastic. In front of the house there is a supermarket and around three others. The house is very quiet and the neighbors are very friendly.

The apartment itself had a comfortable double bed, all the kitchen equipment needed (all in good condition and fully working) tv and wi-fi and handy personal parking right outside in residents parking area. Sainsburys 3 minute walk for all day to day needs. I Would like to mention the owners were most helpful when needed (my mistake completely) after I required their help. Good apartment, good owners. • "Lovely property."

It was bigger than it appeared in the listing, with plenty of hanging space and drawers. Kitchen well equipped. Very comfy bed. Smart TV was a bonus as well. Fantastic location. Similar to other users, I would suggest that it needs longer insulated curtains, there is a considerable draught from the windows to the extent that we needed to move the sofa away from the window. The shower, lacks power, and the boiler isn't sufficient to run a bath (but plenty hot enough for everything else. None of these niggles really detract from the overall ambiance of the property. Thoroughly recommended.

  • "Nice little apartment just out side the wall."

Location is great, apartment was spotlessly clean. Easy arrival and departure. Has everything you need equipment wise for a good stay. Bottle of presseco was lovely surprise. Did message the owner a few times, they always responded quickly. Which was great. A few things would improve the stay. The apartment is quite cold. And we stayed on a warm weekend for the time of year. Kept the heating on the whole visit and the little fire in the evenings on our return. But still cold. I appreciate double glazing is not possible but decent thick curtains would help. There is quite a draft coming through the windows. The curtains don't fit properly and are thin as sheets so light is coming through from sunrise and stops no drafts. The shower isn't great unfortunately, pressure is poor and goes hot/cold. Lastly we found the bed awful. I am mindful that it is quite a personal thing. But for us it was very lumpy and super soft. These are little things that i felt would definitely of made it a more enjoyable stay. It was nice Little place just needs a few little adjustments to make it perfect.

  • "This is a lovely property in a great location for the city."

There are two problems, though: heating and hot water. It's a room on the second floor and in the roof and has sash windows, so even with the radiators on full it struggles to stay warm on a cold day. The hot water is provided by a small electric boiler which simply isn't reliable or powerful enough. On the first night it didn't work at all so we couldn't wash up or have a bath. We had a rather strange conversation with the owner late that evening when we rang to find out how to get hot water. She first insisted it was working (when it wasn't), then suggested we leave it 10 minutes and it would work (it didn't) and then after we complained further suggested we pack up and leave! Ten minutes later she rang asking to start the conversation again, the upshot of which was that we were "being picky" to expect hot water in a flat that was so well-priced for its location. We resorted to using the electric shower, which has a thermostat problem such that the water is either extremely hot or cold. On the second day, the hot water started working (no idea why), but the size of the heater means it's impossible to have a bath. All in all, although it's a lovely property in a great location, we couldn't recommend it because of the hot water situation, the heating (in winter) and the rude approach of the owner to a reasonable question of how to work the hot water.

  • "This property is well situated for enjoying the city of York and all its attractions."

It is well furnished and comfortable although the confines of the flat mean that comfort is sacrificed by the bed being placed against the wall. Personally, we had issues with the lighting which we did not find very bright and, in the kitchen, the lights did not illuminate the working areas but did a good job on the window. The washing machine was pain in that it would not dry the clothes but having a drying stand was a great help to get over this. Could have done with a strainer (for straining cooked rice).

Communications with the owner were also excellent and helpful prior and during our stay. Another bonus is Sainsbury's at the back of the building so you are never far away from an endless supply of provisions. We'll definitely be looking to stay at the Feversham again!! It looked vacuumed, and there were clean sheets and towels, but on entering the kitchen I found crumbs and dust at the side of the microwave and in the handle ridge on the fridge. The freezer box in the fridge had not been defrosted and that was not clean. In fact I spent a while cleaning surfaces and finger marks, I was pleased I had taken some cleaning products, I wanted to use the oven but when I saw the dust and crumbs in the door I decided not to. The whole place needs a thorough deep clean to get rid of the grease on the unit doors and everything else. I noted from another report last year the socket behind the microwave was loose, it still is! The toilet is brown, I couldn’t get that clean but I made an improvement! The list goes on! There are lots of feather scatter cushions and last year’s pamphlets in a folder which should be removed. The place is ideal for York it just needs a team of cleaners now and a thorough clean every Friday. I have taken photos if anyone wants to see them.

Comfy, cozy and well situated with off road parking and a supermarket a 2 minute walk away - we were very happy with the property. The owner had left us a bottle of prosecco and some Lindor chocolates which was a nice touch. The only downside was the shower... the thermometer in the shower unit has gone and so you have the choice of scalding your skin off or freezing - there is no in between. If the shower unit could be replaced, we would happily book again for next year.

Thank you for your positive feedback. I am so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and you would happily book again. The location was perfect and we parked the car in our allotted space and left it there for the week, just walking into York and exploring. The only downsides were a) the bike storage was outside, but the owner told us that so we could bring a bike cover, 2) the view of the house above, and the view of the Minster is actually from the back garden. The flat is on the other side of the house and has a fine view of Sainsbury's car park! Although that was very handy for provisions. A very happy stay. We would happily go back.

The curtains in the living room had mould spots on the back of them and they were so thin that we were woken at 5.30am each morning with the room being filled with sunlight. Boiling water from the kettle was full of grey flecks so we couldn't make hot drinks during the weekend.
