    “A Wonder to Behold”

Forgive me if I overdo it on the superlatives front, but we've just returned home having had one of the most enjoyable and relaxing weeks ever at Kingfisher Cottage. Situated in the heart of The Great Yorkshire Forest, my wife and I honestly couldn't have wished to have found a more perfect place for a last-minute getaway. It's in the gorgeous wooded grounds of a big old country house, with trees and plants aplenty as well as babbling brooks, its very own lake and wildlife everywhere you look. The electronically gated entry meant that our little dog could run around to his heart's content without any fear of him running off and he thoroughly enjoyed all of the nearby walks and trails that truly are in abundance. The cottage itself has everything you could possibly wish for in terms of comforts and necessities, although be aware that there's absolutely no mobile signal to be had due to the cottage’s very remote location. Internet access is limited, but frankly, we found that totally to our liking as we wanted an escape from everything for the week. The nearby market town of Pickering is great for any supplies that you might need and your hosts, Ian & Linda, are just great, always being on hand to offer any help or assistance should it be required. You almost certainly need a car in order to get around and the gardens are probably not the easiest to fully enjoy and appreciate if you have mobility issues. Also, be wary of sat nav directions. Ours took us down a particularly non-vehicle friendly track when we first arrived, but other than that, this place is just idyllic and is hopefully somewhere that we shall be returning to again and again. Utterly fabulous!
