Excellent location. This carriage is placed between Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby (bit closer to Whitby) on a very accessible track. It's outside the door of the carriage. Excellent location. This carriage is placed between Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby (bit closer to Whitby) on a very accessible track. It's outside the door of the carriage. You could simply spend all the time cycling to Robin Hood's Bay and back, because there's so much to do there and it's also a great place to relax. The cafes were great, the fish n chips were ace (except you have to buy tomato sauce sachets..). Re the accommodation we had very adequate space for parents and two sons. The beds they slept in are big enough for adults because I tested one out and at 5ft 7" tall there was plenty of room. The space is deceptive because once you start moving around in there it's very roomy. The showers work really well. It was exceptionally clean. It has a fridge and a small freezer. The microwave is the best I've used and is part of a combi oven. You can sit outside when it's sunny in your own garden area. Also excellently placed for getting anywhere between Scarborough and Staithes. We managed to have a great adventure whilst staying here. A real hit with the us knowing that our children had experienced a holiday they'll never forget. Eldest didn't want to go home. :)

About the location

HAWSKER

Whitby 2.5 miles; Robin Hood's Bay 2.5 miles; Scarborough 17 miles.

The pretty village of Hawsker is situated half way between Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, just two and a half miles from each, making it an ideal base from which to explore the area. Cottages and farms complete this pleasant village, with a local pub serving food, a tea room, a village hall, primary school and children's playground. Set on the National Cycle Network and the Whitby/Scarborough Railtrail (Cinder Trail), Hawsker provides a great base for walkers, cyclists and lovers of the outdoors. The superb coastline in this beautiful part of Yorkshire, and the spectacular North York Moors are well worth exploring, as is the fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay and the ancient port of Whitby. With its winding streets and hidden alleys, Whitby is a charming atmospheric town with a picturesque harbour, long, sandy beaches and the famous Abbey, reached by the 199 steps! Taste the freshly caught fish and chips, take a trip on a local boat or browse a great selection of unique and independent shops.
