  • "A nice visit was tainted within seconds of arrival; we arrived following performances for children at a local historic venue in our transit van containing props and costumes) we tagged on a few days holiday in this lovely area)."

A man approached my hubby “I didn’t know you were coming in a great bus: park against the wall as close in as you can so it doesn’t block the light out”. “Get your Mrs to move the van” (hubby was struggling with key box) ; then came to me and said ‘get your man to park as close to the wall as he can.” There was a very large drive :parking for several vehicles, we could easily have parked outside the property we hired. Instead we ended up having to carry stuff from one side of a very large property to the other to load and unload. We were out daily from breakfast time until late evening so not as if we were causing an obstruction or eyesore? Perhaps if large vehicles or vans are an issue then it should be noted as part of the booking system. We could well have been in a camper van breaking a journey: I suspect the attitude would have been the same?.The property was well positioned , comfortable and with good cooking and washing facilities. Very dog friendly with bowls etc provided. Two single serve wine and biscuits were left as a welcome. Bathroom towels provided were on the small side of bath towels, and the one set was grey washed out and old,( I’ve relegated better for the dog at home) We used our own towels which were larger and less worn.

Firstly i’am very sorry for my grumpiness I didn’t want you parking in front of house like most Guests on the account of the largeness of your vehicle which would’ve blocked all the sunlight out of the house you couldn’t park next to the property you rented as the garage is in constant use I’m sorry for my abruptness but I’m glad you had a nice stay John . Everything you could possibly need was supplied. It was lovely to have a full size fridge/freezer which enabled us to buy all our shopping on the first day, most holiday flats we have stayed in only have a small fridge with a tiny ice box which means multiple trips to the supermarket through the week. The luxury of a washing machine and tumble dryer allowed me to do a couple of loads before going home. The little touches were really appreciated e.g. dishwasher tablets, washing machine powder/capsules, fresh flowers, wine and biscuits upon arrival. The location is brilliant, very quiet at night. The beach is only a couple of minutes across the road. I can highly recommend the walk down to Fraisthorpe along the beach to see the WW2 sea defences and pillboxes. The Lobster Pot pub/restaurant was also a pleasant walk. The railway station is easily reached on foot from here. At night the south promenade is well lit, so no problems taking the dog out late at night. Bridlington is a great location with beautiful beaches and plenty of litter bins (essential when you have a dog). We have been coming to Brid for 30 years and still love it. I would highly recommend the apartment and hope to be booking again soon, it really is a gem of a place for dog owners.

for your info an annex is a building attached to the main building not part of a house, your staff had visited the property to advise on fire precautions carbon detectors etc and should have seen the type of accommodation. The layout and cleanliness was very good the bed very comfortable very impressed on arrival, a short walk to the sea front off road parking about twenty minutes walk to the center of Bridlington with its long sandy beach, plenty of places to eat out. There were problems I noticed there were none recorded in the visitors book but the owners advised in the information book which was helpful to ring Tony if we experience any. We did the toilet seat was very unstable, the shower only produced hot water not adjustable only the showers pressure, even so I tried to have one then it went cold and unable to adjust, as a plumber who had installed one of the same type in my home this shower needed replacing. the extractor fan did not work in the bathroom and the window being locked caused towels etc to be damp.
