  • "Lovely place for a family seaside holiday easy access for the beach helpful and friendly owner"

  • "Took 7 grandchildren who loved the house (mansion as they called it)."

Great location for the beach. The furnishings were a little tired but this didnt detract from a great holiday. Would happily book this property again.

  • "The house was in a lovely place very near the beach."

Had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable, bedrooms were big and roomy too. was a little dated and needs quite a bit of TLC. 2 of the sofas had a broken leg, one of them was propped up with a piece of wood. Masking tape is still on a window after painting. and outside furniture was old and dirty. some of the curtains were hanging down. we appreciate, this house is very big, and needs a lot doing to it. You can see that things are getting done. But its the little things that are not done that shows a lack of care sometimes.

  • "15 of us (4 generations!"

) stayed here for my 50th birthday celebration. I wanted somewhere that all my family could be together and South Bay more than exceeded. We weren’t on top of each other, there was plenty of room for everyone and even the teenagers were content! The kitchen had all the bits and pieces needed and the pool table was a bonus, even if lifting the lid was a 3 man job! We were close enough to the beach and despite the March temperatures we were on the beach both days with the whole family playing rounders and walking into town. Our only problem was the showers and lack of power in a few of them, however , this was easily resolved by most of the adults taking turns to use the one in bedroom 1 . Yes the property is dated, it could do with sprucing up a bit, but for a weekend we all mucked in and had such a wonderful time. It was a perfect setting for everyone to be together and create some wonderful memories, thank you!

I would recommend this property for anyone looking to book a larger property to cater for a family gathering.

  • "This is our third holiday in this house."

It’s a comfortable and relaxing house and accommodates our large party well, with space to spread out and come together. Its location is ideal as it’s close to both the beach and town centre without being affected by the activities there, while places like Flamborough Head and Bempton Cliffs are not far away.

  • "The house is lovely especially the lounge and dining area."

The rest of the house needs bringing up to that same standard. Great place to stop and excellent value for money

  • "Property is a little tired and some of the beds had awful mattresses on them."

Overall, it was about right for the money, but could be so much better, with some serious upgrades and a refurb, so all rooms were as good as the one at the front. Helpful owner, with some nice touches, such as the quiz with a prize. Some dishwasher tablets, or at least info that you should bring them would have been good.

  • "It was awesome."

The cottage was located close to everything we needed, the grocery store, the event venue, the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Paul was also fast to respond to any questions. The key lock box was ideal for sharing the keys, in our group, during our visit.

  • "We are the Schulers and we do not own a house large enough to accommodate all our family but this holiday home from home had the space and facilities for us all -from a two year old to an almost 90 year old."

We were thrilled by the rooms, equipment, facilities, proximity to fun, beaches, nature reserve and art. We are only sorry that the house is already booked for Christmas. We will be back for somebody's special birthday next year! Thank you, Chris and Geraldine Schuler

  • "The showers failed in some of the rooms, our granddaughter shower head was split with water shooting everywhere, she had to use her our daughters shower."

The dining table was a pool table with a sheet of chipboard over. My wife and others banged their knees on the underside of the table. It wasn't practical to carry a heavy chipboard sheet off to use the pool table. The floors were dirty, our daughter had black feet after walking barefoot on the carpets and kitchen floor tiles. The downstairs toilet didn't flush well, the living room furniture was threadbare on the arms. We wouldn't book this sccomodation again, very dissapointed.

  • "Fabulous house for both adults and kids."

Kids loved the playroom and is in a fantastic location both for being able to walk to the beautiful beach and promenade but also for exploring local attractions such as Danes dykes natural reserve, the model village and rspb Bempton cliffs which all enjoyed. The house had everything we could think of and more, only criticism was the grill was incredibly slow but the fact there is a microwave combi grill was no issue. Highly recommend

Plenty of bedrooms for us all and having ‘on suites’ in most made things easier. A lovely sunny weekend and property is so near to the front. This meant that Sandy the dog had lots of walks along the beach- perfect!
