  • "A beautiful, clean, comfy cottage which has everything you’ll need (a home from home) so ideal for our circumstances - we stayed here for approximately 6 weeks."

The owners are lovely and on-hand should you need them we didn’t as everything was faultless. Peaceful, quiet location easily accessible by car. We hope to return in the summer.

  • "Thank you for providing a beautiful, exceptionally clean & comfortable home for our week's break."

The countryside was so peaceful & pretty. I could also feel myself surrounded by history, it was a feeling I loved. I came for a week of peace & quiet basically while coping with an illness. I found some gentle evening strolls, listening to the wildlife, especially the owls very therapeutic. I only wish we could've spoken to the owners over a couple of very minor issues such as 'where is the nearest shop?', recycling food waste, etc? No-one greeted us on arrival so we ended up with no point of reference but apart from that, can't rate the cottage highly enough!

  • "Dear Adam & Sarah We loved our 2 day break."

Well deserved peace and quiet. The super king bed was lush and we could both of stayed in it longer. The garden was ideal for our wolf/dog who also enjoyed his stay. It was nice to hear the pigs at the pig farm just up the road. The cows were also having a good graze in the field opposite. We also see some horses further on down in the village in the field pass the church. We ventured off to Hornsea and Flamborough which had some picturesqe beaches and cliffs ideal for dog walking. Would highly recommend to go to if you need a break. Thanks again. Rosanne, Laurence and Kane

  • "The accommodation was excellent for comfort and cleanliness."

The kitchen was well equipped and extras like cleaning equipment, shampoo, shower gel etc were much appreciated. However when reading the blog on Sykes website 2 bathrooms, fully enclosed garden was not correct. There was Only one bathroom and separate toilet both of which are downstairs. Having a small dog the garden was not fully enclosed.we had to keep him on a lead otherwise he would have escaped under the gate. Apart from the above we would thoroughly recommend this holiday home.

Middle of the night basically. I was looking forward to relaxing but not much luck. I came home shattered. Just a suggestion.

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks stay."

The cottage is very clean and all essentials are there for you. The bed is so comfortable!! You do get alot of flies / wasps but given that the property is on farm land it is understandable. We just bought fly spray. The cottage is lovely and very remote which was great for us as we visited lots of places around east coast that were busy so it was great coming back to the peaceful cottage. Ideal base for exploring the area. The owners live next door and they are so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them. They leave you to your own privacy but are on hand for any advise / help you may require. I would highly recommend and will look to use this property on the future.

  • "Our thanks to Sarah and Adam."

Great place for peace and quiet. The owners are a lovely couple and very welcoming. Rooms are all clean and tidy, with ample storage space, if, like us, you take lots with you. Ample hot water for a bath or using the powerful shower. A great location for quiet walks . A previous reviewer stated they left early as they ‘were bored’, 'no shops or pubs within walking distance'. This is due more to a lack of research by the reviewer and not reading the information on the Sykes website. The website clearly states ‘shop 2.5 miles, pub 3.5 miles’. And as to remoteness, surely you would do a little research before booking a location. We would certainly book again.

  • "The cottage is nice and quiet, bed very comfy, a little bit too remote for us so would not stay there again, no shops or pubs within walking distance, Hornsea a 25 minute drive, the back garden is not enclosed and goes straight into the front garden so had to keep an eye on the dog all the time."

We were inundated with flies and wasps probably because of the amount of farms nearby, Did not see anything of the owners but there was milk in the fridge and biscuits left for us, we came home a day early but only because we were bored, other people would probably love the peace and quiet

  • "A wonderful comfy cottage."

Lovely owners whom are informative and friendly. A great get away from the busy city life to a totally peaceful stay. Great place to walk your dog. A perfect base to go and explore surrounding areas. A short drive to some local pubs which supply excellent food. Great place to relax and unwind. Will certainly stay again.

  • "The cottage is well equipped, clean and comfortable, the bed is just right!"

The location is idyllic, so quiet. The lane is perfect for an evening walk with the dog and only leads to farms so there is little traffic. The garden is large and fenced and gated, perfect for the dog. The owners could not be more welcoming. It is a good base for the coast & inland attractions. Hornsea is a good beach with some access for dogs all year around. Burton Constable well worth a visit, especially the café, fabulous sharing plate! We were lucky with the weather but the area offers plenty of indoor attractions should it be less favourable. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.
