“The cottage was cold on arrival, no heating on and 11 degrees inside.”

Caffietiere still had coffee in it and no idea how long it had been there but it wasn't pleasant. On suite door would not shut. Lounge very tired and needs updating, very dark in the lounge. Gaffer tape holding up shower holder/rail in the downstairs bathroom, nowhere to hang clothes apart from the floor. Only 4 dinner plates yet the cottage sleeps 6, there should be 2 plates per person. Some plates were chipped. On the plus side. Once heating was on it was nice and warm, eventually. Cottage and bedding were clean. Loved how spacious kitchen was. Local pub opposite was good.
