  • "Really comfortable cottage and very clean."

Could not fault in any way. Would highly recommend and definitely go back again in the future. The area is beautiful and I think once been and seen you are hooked!!! The Yorkshire coast at its best.

  • "Best equipped house we've stayed in."

Clean, comfortable with good quality furnishings. Only small problem was the leaking conservatory roof. I phoned to report but was not met with a great response, turned out house was owned by a holiday company.

Hi thanks for your great feedback. The house is definitely owned by me, not a holiday company. I will follow up with Sykes to find out what went wrong with not passing your message on. Thanks very much for reporting the conservatory leak, I will get that looked into. Ruth Property Owner

  • "Spent a week in this spotless cottage with a beautiful sun trap of a decked garden and conservatory in August."

We were welcomed with local produce and everything was as described in the listing and more. The sofa was a home away from home, and dare for anyone to last more than ten minutes on it without falling asleep (thanks for the blankets) The games in the cupboard were fun to play in the evening with the teens and I ended up needing to buy a version to take home. Hinderwell is pretty. Highly recommend Mark's hospitality at the Brown Cow a short walk around the corner, together with the sausage rolls from the butchers and a darling little beauty salon with an owner who makes bespoke silver jewellery. Would recommend booking The Magpie in Whitby for fish and chips and also the steam train from Whitby to Pickering via Goathland (Aidensfield) On the whole 11/10. Would love to come back. A huge thank you to the owner. We saw North Yorkshire at its most vibrant.

  • "Thank you for a great stay."

Lovely cottage. Great walks from the house, especially along the Cleveland Way to Staithes. Plenty of nice places to eat (Cod and Lobster in Staithes, Fish Cottage in Sandsend) Would definitely stay again.

  • "This was our first time staying in this area and we had a great time."

Pond Farm View is in a great location for walks on your doorstep, Runswick Bay and a walk to Staithes along the Cleveland Way to name a few. Plenty of places to eat out also and enjoy good local food and plenty of sea food. The accommodation Pond Farm view offered was excellent, it was clean tidy and offered everything needed for a comfortable stay with plenty of room to chill and relax in. Beds were comfortable and welcome after doing long walks getting and getting some well earned rest and sleep. Bonus of having off road parking was great as we didn't have to look for some were to park after being out for the day but if you have a bigger than average car like I have you may find it a bit tight but do able. All in all a great place and a great base for exploring the area.

  • "The property was excellent in most respects."

The only down side was the Smart TV. We were unable to get live ITV on it. I managed to get live BBC, but it was a roundabout way.

Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear you had problems with the TV. We have since had a new smart TV fitted along with a satellite dish with FreeSat for live TV, along with the other app based channels such as Netflix and Iplayer. Property Owner

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pond Farm View."

The house is well equipped and spotlessly clean - a real home from home. The welcome basket was a lovely touch too - filled with local treats :) Great location for exploring and the added bonus of the tennis courts next door - which the children loved. The only ‘negative’ was the lack of a cafetière - although having a nespresso coffee machine was a real treat. We hope to visit again - the whole family loved it.

Thanks for your lovely feedback. I will definitely get a cafetiere for the kitchen. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely AMAZING!"

!! Will definitely come back here. Everything was perfect and so so so clean!! This was our first holiday in this part of the uk and oh my it was perfect! The only downside was the tide was against us, so made for early mornings! But that cant be helped. Maybe a blind or curtain for the bathroom window could be put up for those of us that aren't used to not having one. Have recommended this home to family and friends... it's very hard to please everyone in our little family of 5, and yet this home managed to do it! See you again next year.

Thanks for the great feedback and really glad you enjoyed your first visit to this part of Yorkshire! We will definitely look into whether a bathroom blind can be fitted. Property Owner

  • "We wouldn't hesitate returning to Pond Farm View!"

Its location was perfect for our favourite beach, Runswick Bay, as well as Robin Hood Bay, Whitby, Sandsend etc. The property itself was immaculate and extremely well equipped (we did miss a spatula however), even down to the little touches such as the picnic basket, parasol, bucket and spade. We also appreciated the tourist leaflets and enjoyed looking through them for our next visit. One thing we would like to mention - we guess it was the gardener, who walked through the side gate to the courtyard out the back, while we were sitting playing a game in the lounge. We would have appreciated notification of this, but it certainly didn't spoil our stay here, and we will definitely be returning. Everything was thought of, thank you for a fantastic albeit very brief stay!

Thanks for your lovely feedback and I’m really glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry about you not having notice of the gardener arriving, that should have happened and I will follow it up. Property Owner

  • "Pond Farm View is a lovely property."

Very clean, comfortable, quiet and in an ideal position for walks on the coast. Also close to bus service. The welcome pack from Ruth was a nice touch! We had no problems at all with parking at the property. The only very very tiny problem was with the curtains in the main bedroom. They were difficult to draw, seem to be sticking. Otherwise perfect!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We will definitely look at sorting out the curtains. Property Owner

  • "The house was lovely and welcoming."

The welcome package was a nice gesture. Things like the board games was a really nice touch, we made full use. Location is great. Only gripe was the neighbour was a bit obnoxious with his parking, making the driveway difficult to access, but that did not dampen our holiday. Super holiday, lovely home and a great location. We would definitely return.
