  • "A small, compact and perfect place to stay."

So close to everything. The kitchen is well equipped but we rented to eat out, there are so many lovely places on the doorstep. We never had any issues with parking, managed to park out side to drop everything off then we parked the car up at the back of the pub, its 2 minutes away if that. I was a bit wary about the stairs but to be honest they were fine just typical old staircase. Phil the owner always on hand to answer any queries . All in all a fantastic stay would recommend to anyone .

It is close to all amenities. The property owners are friendly and accomodating. This was my first stay at the Pebbles but will not be my last.

  • "Just spent a lovely 4 day break in this property."

The owner (Phil) was more than helpfull and nothing was too much trouble if we had a request. The cottage was really clean and the appliances were almost new. The cottage is on a main road into Hornsea and on a small traffic roundabout, this was not a problem. The Mere was disappointing and was difficult to walk around. A nice steady 15 minute walk brought us to the Sea front. You can take your dog on certain areas of the beach. A nice relaxing break. Lynn & Chris Whiteside & Kizzy the Plummer terrier.

  • "We took a chance on this despite the bad review, our mistake."

One of the two bedrooms has no windows. The house was not throughly cleaned, we found a sock, hair accessories and used inhaler under one of the beds. Cups and plates felt greasy to touch and were smeared. The living room window and TV had dirty handprints all over. The chairs in the kitchen were dusty and had cobwebs on. We did complain to Sykes but they got no response from the owner so just closed our complaint. I would not recommend this property.

Thank you for your comments, I am so sorry that on this occasion a temporary cleaner had been employed and the standard was not satisfactory. I do supply my contact number pre arrival for guests who have any issues and would have helped at the time of your stay, but was not aware until you were leaving as I spoke to you on check out and apologised. Following your review which was supplied to Sykes a few days after your checkout, I can confirm that the cleanliness is back to its usually high standard and we have also ensured that the advert now mentions that the twin bedroom does not have a window. • "A wasn’t aware the was two very steep narrow flights of stairs one into the place and the other up to the bedrooms."

Also the bathroom is down stairs which having to get up through the night is not good. We thought it was too expensive at £265 for two nights?

Thank you for your comments, we have now included more information about the staircasse and location of the bathroom on the advert to let people know it is not on the same floor as the bedrooms. The pricing is set in conjunction with Sykes and is reviewed regularly by Sykes. Property Owner

  • "My partner and I had a fantastic weekend stay at the Pebbles in Hornsea!"

We selected this property due to the great location - It was perfect to walk to the high street to visit the shops and different pubs. Before booking we were slightly reluctant due to the bad review, however after reading another guests stay we decided to go ahead and book. When we arrived it was extremely clean and just how the pictures depict. There was a brand new fridge and all other appliances were just what we needed - and easy to use. We will definitely be returning to Hornsea in the future and will revisit The Pebbles for another lovely stay! Many thanks!

Thank you for the lovely feedback and we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you also for the top cleanliness score which is much appreciated as we do take great pride in our property. Property Owner

  • "I had the most marvellous time at the Pebbles."

It was pristine clean, very relaxing with comfy beds, and the self catering facilities were easy to use and clean. The washer/dryer was simple and easy to use. The shower and bath facilities were also.clean and tidy before we arrived. The location was great, it was close to all the amenities in Hornsea (the beach, Cliff Road cafe, and Whiteheads chip shop). We used the free car park around the corner, behind the Victoria pub. I was on holiday with my son and my granddaughter, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time. I believe I will book again in the future.

  • "We were disgusted to find a DIRTY USED FACEMASK on the kitchen floor when we arrived."

There was also a STRONG BAD SMELL like sour milk in the kitchen, which lasted all week. I found a used elastoplast stuck to the twin bedroom wall. The property details say roadside parking, however on Monday to Saturday between 9am and 6pm this is only available for one hour, and we had great difficulty finding somewhere to park. The kitchen is described as modern, but the fridge is old and rocked when opened and closed. The hob was very worn, and there were no markings to tell you which knob controlled which plate, or which way to turn the knobs. There were no instruction booklets for appliances, especially the washing machine. The stairs into the property are very steep and would not suit elderly people or those with disabilities. This should be mentioned in the description.

Thank you for your feedback on your stay at The Pebbles. We are very sorry to hear of the issues you experienced, I clean the property myself and always double check the property before I leave so was very surprised to read of the face mask and elastoplast. The roadside parking unfortunately cannot be guaranteed, however there are multiple areas available to park close to the property should you struggle to find somewhere to park and the road on which the property is situated is free to park from 5pm - 10am. In regards to the fridge, I did clean out the fridge before your stay before I left the complimentary fresh milk, however I am aware that the fridge may be deemed as dated so have since ordered a new fridge for the property. Had you contacted myself/Sykes regarding the issues you experienced we would have been more than happy to try and rectify these while you were in the property. Property Owner
