  • "The position of the house is unfortunate as it’s in a very busy council estate that included noisy parties and kids on motorbikes messing around at all hours."

It’s also next door to an extremely busy and popular chip shop so parking was a fight on most days between this and local residents on the estate. There was a pizza left in the lower of the oven so on first use it was extremely burnt but could have been a potential fire hazard. There were areas that had dead moths so obviously not been cleaned. Also paint peeling and skirting missing off one room and the lounge sofas were extremely uncomfortable. It would have been helpful to include more information on the house for example bin day collections. There is a lot of room in the house and many positives about the decor but unfortunately for the above reasons we would not use this house again or recommend it. We would use Sykes again as this is only our first booking, we do think this property only needs slight improvements, however the parking is a major problem and shouldn’t be advertised as ample parking outside it was rare to park right outside the property.

Hi Rosaline, Thank you for your feedback. We employ a cleaning company to maintain the property, so I’m very sorry things weren’t up to standard for your visit. We have sent this feedback back to them, so they can ensure that this doesn’t happen again. We take the safety of our guests seriously, all rooms are fitted with smoke detectors, there are fire blankets and fire extinguishers also within easy reach. We really wish you would have contacted us straight away, we then could have addressed the issues raised quickly.. The sofas you mentioned are brand new and were purchased due to their comfort. But we appreciate that everyone has different preferences, you’re the first guest to find them unsatisfactory. The property was freshly repainted at the start of April 23, but things can and do get damaged during the holiday season. To our knowledge the only skirting boards that need refitting are in the walk-in wardrobe of the main bedroom, we plan to finish this once the season eases off. We’re again very sorry this affected your stay. We can only apologise for the other issues that you’ve raised, that are sadly out of our control. Unfortunately the property doesn’t have a private parking spot, as always with any on street parking you may not always be able to park where you want. So you may have for a short time had to park slightly away from the house. Thankfully our close neighbours are all retired so the chance of any parties is very few and far between. To our knowledge the majority of the houses on the estate are actually privately owned, again we’re sorry this affected your stay at the house. We’re sorry the stay wasn’t everything you wanted it to be and wish you all the best. Simon & Lisa Property Owner

  • "We went on a family stay with 5 adults and 3 children ages 13-16yrs and a dog!"

The beach Huts was ideally laid out and we could all sit round the table in the dining room and also in the lounge and chat! We did a lot of site seeing in Scarborough, York, Whitby and would really recommend Beverley if you like a spot of quaint shopping and Hornsea was centrally located to all. We were 5 mins to the local Tesco , pubs, restaurants and round the corner was a fabulous fish and chip shop and a small Morrisons. We would all recommend this lovely house for a staycation!

Thank you for your feed back, we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and everything was perfect for you and your family. Kind regards Simon & Lisa Property Owner

  • "House was lovely and spacious and well presented."

There were 6 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs and we were worried we would be on top of each other, but there was more than enough space. It was very clean and the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. Great extras such as washing machine, televisions in bedrooms with netflix etc. Close to the beach and other amenities of Hornsea. Communication from the hosts was excellent and they were very helpful both before and during our stay. Would definitely go back.

Hi Alison Thank you for your review, we’re so glad you’ve had a great stay at the Beach Huts. We’d like to think it’s perfect for bigger families, having everything that you’d need to enjoy your stay. We look forward to your return soon. Kind regards Simon & Lisa Property Owner

  • "The beach hut was a great find for us; homely clean, practical and very comfy."

Attention to detail by the hosts was especially lovely. House had a cool layout and charm about it which we all commented on straight away. Everything needed plus more is provided such as all utilities, smart TVs, comfy beds, great bathrooms etc. The ground floor was really great with the kitchen, dinning room and living room all excellent places to be in and use. It appeared to also cater really well for children of all ages, including a cot, PlayStation and back yard, although we only booked with adults. Contacted the hosts on our arrival and they were very responsive and friendly. The property was also easy to find and conveniently near a small morrisons, with a large tesco also close by in Hornsea. Space for several cars in the road right outside ...and most importantly it was a nice walk to the beach! Definitely will be coming back in the future I'm sure. Thank you. 10/10, five stars :)

Hi Francis, thank you so much for taking the time to review us. It really means a lot. We are so glad you had a lovely time and we’re so pleased you’d like to come back too. All the best, Simon & Lisa. Property Owner
