    “Delightful traditional North Yorkshire cottage”

We instantly fell in love with this little cottage here in the delightful village of Hovingham. It has been our base for excursions to Cistercian monasteries, a Roman city and various other delightful places in this area. We have been amazed by how thoughtful the owner has been in catering for everything a visitor might need. We will always remember the little villages in this area built of yellow York stone and their red pantiles roofs. Everything was so homely and comfortable.

There is an wood burner in the living room and sloping ceilings in the bedrooms, while outside is a small, enclosed south-facing garden, ideal for relaxing.

Hovingham itself has amenities including an excellent hotel and a village shop.

Surrounded by the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area.

Excellent walking and cycling opportunities are close by, whilst Nunnington Hall and the stately home and gardens of Castle Howard are just 4 miles away.
