“A very homely and comfortable cottage which provides a great base for accessing the North York Moors and the nearby Howardian Hills.”

Hovingham is a beautiful village with a wonderful bakery and well stocked local store. Good local walks from the cottage too. All in all Waterside cottage exceeded our expectations and we’d definitely return if back in the area.

The property

A delightful stone-built, semi-detached cottage, nestling close to the beck in the picturesque village of Hovingham.

The cottage has real charm and character, and has been lovingly renovated to provide a very comfortable, cosy retreat.

There is an wood burner in the living room and sloping ceilings in the bedrooms, while outside is a small, enclosed south-facing garden, ideal for relaxing.

Hovingham itself has amenities including an excellent hotel and a village shop.

Surrounded by the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area.

Excellent walking and cycling opportunities are close by, whilst Nunnington Hall and the stately home and gardens of Castle Howard are just 4 miles away.

The pretty market towns of Malton and Helmsley are both only 8 miles away and well worth visiting.

An easy drive to the historic city of York and also to the East Coast seaside resorts makes this a most enjoyable holiday.
