“The place was super and very homely and cozy.”

The owner total marvelous and to find that there we also welcoming extra little things, such some milk in the fridge, a fresh loaf of bread from the local bakery, some nice cakes waiting for you when you arrived shows care and thought by an owner that cares and wants you to be comfortable and happy. I am only very sorry that we had to cut our stay short due to a family emergency.

The property

A delightful stone-built, semi-detached cottage, nestling close to the beck in the picturesque village of Hovingham.

The cottage has real charm and character, and has been lovingly renovated to provide a very comfortable, cosy retreat.

There is an wood burner in the living room and sloping ceilings in the bedrooms, while outside is a small, enclosed south-facing garden, ideal for relaxing.

Hovingham itself has amenities including an excellent hotel and a village shop.

Surrounded by the Howardian Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area.

Excellent walking and cycling opportunities are close by, whilst Nunnington Hall and the stately home and gardens of Castle Howard are just 4 miles away.

The pretty market towns of Malton and Helmsley are both only 8 miles away and well worth visiting.

An easy drive to the historic city of York and also to the East Coast seaside resorts makes this a most enjoyable holiday.
