Our hosts Chris and Alison made us very welcome. The lodge itself was immaculately clean and very well equipped. The location was excellent and perfectly positioned to allow travel to numerous attractions. Nearby there were some really nice restaurants so you didn't have to travel far to eat well. Our only disappointment was that business commitments meant we couldn't stay longer. Early booking is recommended in order not to be disappointed. Thank you to Alison and Chris. Kind regards, Annette Ann and Jaxine.

We had a lovely welcome from Chris & Alison with the unexpected bonus of some milk and eggs, with the offer of more eggs should we want any - the hens were laying well that week! The lodge itself is comfortable and stylish with all the necessities for a stay. Situated about half way north of York and south of Thirsk. The P&R for York is a few miles down the road and it takes under an hour and half to access the east coastal side. We also visited the Dales, all of which are within comfortable reach of the lodge. I would recommend the lodge to anyone looking to visit Yorkshire. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return. Thank you.

Alison & Chris we're just such terrific hosts, they were so welcoming and thoughtful. The little touches were very appreciated such as a bottle of wine, eggs, marshmallows and skewers for the firepit which they also provided all the wood and tools for. They even took our daughter off to meet their chickens and collect eggs which was a wonderful experience for her. They were also so helpful providing us with information on where to eat and visit. The lodge is set in a beautiful spot, the location is perfect, providing easy access to York, Easingwold and Thirsk. The lodge itself was immaculate and the facilities were excellent, so much thought has been put into ensuring you have everything you need throughout your stay. It has a lovely feel throughout, most importantly the beds are extremely comfy and so sleeping is made easy from day 1. A lot of lodges can be just ok inside and out but Gardener's Lodge has a very luxurious feel. It is a lovely place to relax and unwind whilst also feeling a part of nature. We have visited twice in the space of 3 months as it is just so lovely, along with Chris & Alison who always give us such a warm welcome. Our 3 year old is now getting used to eggs from their very own chickens. Their lovely gestures really gives that added touch to the stay. Lovely place for both friends to enjoy and small families.
