  Everything you could ask for. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and lovely welcome pack. We gave up on the Bay as the accommodation we'd booked via the Bay directly was very poor and the reception staff unhelpful. We're so glad we can book via Sykes Cottages, as we can book specific holiday lets, read the reviews and hear from the owners directly. A more personalised service. We will be back!

• "Absolutely wonderful apartment , it was spotless and that’s coming from my mrs who manages 100 cleaning staff, sofa was very comfy only stayed 3 nights but enjoyed it immensely , excellently positioned close to Filey and Bridlington not much further away, , short walk to beach and local pub, very dog friendly, and welcome pack was best we’ve ever received, even some doggy sticks, if I was to be picky a king size double bed would av been the icing on the cake ."

• "I really enjoyed my stay at Netts, for me the apartment was the perfect size and the welcome hamper was superb!"

  I have been to cottages where welcome hampers have been promised and have either not existed or have been a poor excuse, so this was a very good start. I feel that the outside of the building where the entrance door is was letting the area down, the paint is stained and just looks neglected which is a real shame as the rest of the village is pristine. My hosts texted to make sure all was well and to thank me for stripping the bed etc. I would definitely book it again should I return . All in all well done Sykes and especially well done to Jeanette and Wayne Thankyou Kelvin moody

  In a nice area handy for many places to visit, and plenty of local eateries. Huge beach after a short walk where you can walk to Filey along the beach if reasonably fit. And the adult swim sessions which are free with the card provided. Well Recommended.

• "Fantastic stay in the property, comfortable, clean, loved the wee hamper and the hosts were super helpful and responsive."

  Only flaw I found is not specific to this property and the facilities inside which as mentioned were fantastic, but the path leading to the front door of the entrance hall for all of the properties in this part of the building, was uneven and I actually tripped at this part and hurt my ankle as a result. It was not that obvious to spot, especially after a 6 hour drive and moving luggage inside, it was easy to miss. As mentioned, this is no fault of the owners of the property, who were super helpful when I mentioned this happened and let me know about the pharmacy in the bay and had left ice in the freezer, though I suspect not with this purpose in mind but very helpful nonetheless. 10/10 property though, will be back.

• "Our cottage was very clean."

• "I booked this property for my daughter, her partner and dog."

  The property itself was fine, clean and well equipped. Unfortunately the problems arising were beyond the control of the owner. For two nights running, abusive rowdy neighbours disturbed their sleep. Then a local farmer sprayed his field with slurry. Country smells are not a problem, but the stench of slurry was so unbearable they had to keep the windows firmly shut and stay away from the property as much as possible! Not a happy experience. Unfortunately we would not recommend this site or property.

  Thank you for your feedback and I am glad that you found Nett's Coastal Escape fine, clean and well equipped. I was very surprised to read about the issues with rowdy neighbours, something that I have not come across on this family site during the seven years I have owned this apartment. A security number was provided in the Welcome book and if I had been contacted when the problem arose I would have contacted the site managers myself to resolve the matter. Regarding the country smell, as you have mentioned, this was out of my control, and as far as I am aware this is not a regular occurrence on the holiday site. Kind regards, Jeanette Property Owner

  Spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen and even a welcome hamper of basics and goodies. Very comfortable double with high quality bedding and pillows. The only improvement I could suggest, if the time ever comes to replace the bed, replace it with a king size. Otherwise, more than happy with the property.

  Modern design and very well equipped. The holiday resort is very clean and tidy and has a nice feel about it. It is only a short stroll to the beach where you can walk along to Filey, very picturesque and lovely large clean beach. There are plenty of takeaways and restaurants in Filey ehivh deliver to the complex or eat at the onsite pub which also serves breakfast. We will definitely be going back for another short break soon.

  The welcome Hamper was an unexpected Plus! providing tea, coffee, Thick cut loaf and Baked beans for breakfast with a pint of milk,Butter and bottles of water in the fridge. Dog bowls and matt with some doggy treats included for our K9 who really appreciated this. Wonderfully warm and cosy. I would certainly stay again. Great road connections to Pickering for the steam railway. Five minute walk to the dog friendly pub and access to the beach within a few minutes from the Pub.

  good space, good equipment. Very plain building on the outside, key safe a bit fiddly. Only thing I would change would be to move the heating thermostat to the sitting area, but then we like a cosy place to sit but a cool bedroom. The Bay Filey is an impressive location and the beach and town are not too far away.

  The owner provides everything you would need from luxurious fluffy towels to every kitchen utensil you could need. The dishwasher and washing machine are great additions. Everything has been finished to a high standard. The holiday village itself is well situated (shame there isn't a shop selling everyday essentials but there are shops which as a short drive away). The walk down to the beach is lovely and a nice exercise coming back up the slope! A great holiday setting for access to the lovely Yorkshire coast. My husband, me and the dog had a lovely week!

  We had even been left a box of chocs and a bag of dog treats. We took a couple of extra pillows but don’t bother taking anything all you can imagine is provided. The village itself is well maintained with plenty of amenities did not get chance to use the pool for touring up and down the coast will go for longer than 5days next time.
