  • "Nice holiday let in a very bright and private location on this very large well kept site."

Outside bench set is sheltered and catches the afternoon sun. Just off the main entrance to the site but next to no noise from the road and quiet at night. Found the couches very uncomfortable, even used several cushions to no avail. A couple of comfy chairs instead of one couch would be ideal but this is obviously a personal preference. Excellent dog walking meadow adjacent to cottage and the 5 mile long beach is stunning but a good walk through the site but worth it. The walk to Filey and back on the beach is beautiful ( approx 6 mile) but we'll worth the effort. We dined out most nights ( found oven difficult to work out) but plenty places in Filey and surrounding villages were dog friendly. Not recommended any as everybody's idea of "good" varies - as we found out. Overall in spite of the mixed weather we had a lovely time.

Thank you for your feedback and glad you had a lovely time . To respond to some of your points- The sofas have very recently been replaced again for the fourth time in 12 years due to damage caused by guests allowing their dogs up onto the furniture even though we do politely request they are not. We find them to be very comfortable as have previous guests and would suggest this would be a personal preference. The instructions for appliances including the oven are kept in the bottom kitchen drawers as notified when contacted regarding the TV tuning following issues with the communal TV mast on site. Apologies if you found that previous guests recommendations for places to dine didn't meet your expectations, again I would say would be personal preference. Property Owner

Thank you Lindsay for your lovely review following your recent stay at BayDream. The property is next to open grassland and a walk that can take you through the holiday park and down to the beach which is a beautiful open beach your dog can enjoy. The park itself is open and well planned. Bay Dream is clean well decorated and contains everything you could wish for in holiday accommodation if the sun shines or it rains. Being just of the main road it makes travelling to other areas extremely easy. We have enjoyed our holiday as much this time as when we stayed in the same accommodation before thank you.

You are just a short drive from Filey, Scarborough or Bridlington so a perfect base. Facilities on site are very good, although the boiler broke on the swimming pool half way through our stay so it was absolutely freezing. The owners of Bay Dream have just got everything right, a very, well equip home for the week, loads of hot water and heating worked quickly when needed. A short walk to the beach, much loved by our Jack Russell puppy. If you get chance when you go down to the beach, turn right and walk to Humanby Gap, outstanding cafe with delicious cakes and breakfasts. Thank you for our wonderful stay, we will definitely be back!

Fresh milk left was lovely touch. Everything you could want in kitchen including toasted sandwich maker and Dolce gusto coffee machine. Would be handy to know if/which coffee machine in description as could take pods with us. Loved that it was on the edge of The Bay so peaceful and plenty of green outside. Beds a little soft for us and the sofa a little low (probably age of us) but wouldn't stop us returning! Would definitely recommend. Will be back if available when we return to the area.

Thank you for your lovely review of BayDream following your recent stay with us. We have now amending the listing to show the brand/type of coffee machine available to help future guests. • "Lovely house to stay in and very clean and tidy upon arrival."

The house is very well located for visiting areas like Whitby and Scarborough and other areas on the coast. The park itself is very quiet which is what we enjoyed and yet a 10 min walk to the beautiful beach as well. We did struggle with parking on a few days as bays are not numbered and there seemed to be random cars parked round by our corner area. But the house is very well equipped and didn't want for anything, but there didn't seem to be a clothes airer as when I did washing i couldn't hang washing out on anything. But we had a wonderful week here and would come back again without fail.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. To respond to your feedback- The marked bays have been added quite recently however, owners have been notified that there are no plans to add plot or house numbers to the bays even though the majority of owners would of preferred it. Regarding no clothes airer in BayDream- We are not allowed to put one in the property as a clause within our ground lease, as they feel they are unsightly. Although some owners do still provide them, we are warned that they will be removed by security if left outside. Due to having laminate flooring predominately through the property, there is a concern there would be damage caused to the flooring if left up. Property Owner

The cottage was lovely with everything we needed and the open space at the back was great for early morning and late evening walks with the dog. There is a lot of development work going on at the Bay at the moment especially around the ljke with the new lodges and I hope thay are not going to over develop it, at the weekend it already seemed more crowded than it has previously with queues to get a table at bot the pub abd the cafe. Some of this may be due to Covid restrictions but some maybe just that there are getting to be too many people for the facilities. We were also a little dispaointed in menu and food at the pub the menu was more limited than i thas been previously again not sur eif this is due to Covid or the change in ownership, but also a lot of things on the limited menu were not available. However we did not let it spoil the holiday and ate out more in surrounding pubs abnd restauarants. Overall an excellent break

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay at BayDream. The Bay has been busier this year due to the staycation effect & feedback from previous guests are that they love staying at The Bay as a base for exploring the area. The JPJ has paired down its menu as they are concentrating on using more local produce and suppliers which has greatly improved the quality of the food served. Hopefully you will find it easier to get a table if you decide to visit The Bay in the future. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely lovely area, fabulous beach, would definitely return."

The Bay Dream was a lovely house, could of done with a better clean, as there was dust and bits all over the floor. Our other downside was that we had no internet for the whole of our stay, but put this down to openreach for not coming out to fix the problem. Great communication with the owner Amanda, who tried her best to get this sorted. Wouldnt put us off returning though. :)

The dust & bits all over the floor were as a result of a Sky engineer going into the property to carry out work to try to remedy the WiFi not working. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, sky's policy is that nobody is allowed in the room whilst they are in attendance. Therefore it was carried out between our previous guest and next check in but the cleaning of the property had already taken place beforehand. We're sorry that these bits had been missed as a result and thank you for your feedback. We hope that this didn't detract too much from your stay Property Owner

Everything about Baydream was excellent as expected. However the fencing off of the Meadows area was disappointing and limited our walking of the dogs . About the location

Scarborough 7.7 miles; Bridlington 10.5 miles.

Set in the magnificent Filey Bay, Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making it an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels and there is a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated and there are loads of family activities such as Alpamare UK waterpark, Filey Bird Garden and Animal Park and the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where all kinds of common and rare birdlife can be seen. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where you will find great beaches, a castle, the Rotunda Museum and the acclaimed Sea Life Centre. Other towns worth visiting close to Filey include Bridlington, Whitby, Hornsea and Saltburn, which all demonstrate the vibrancy of this picturesque North Yorkshire region.
