"Cosy, bright, well equipped cottage."
Clean and spacious for 4. Bay facilities are well kept and lovely surroundings.
"Excellent cottage in a very good location."
"We will return in the future."
"Stayed at Nantucket Cottage for Easter 2022 with my husband, 5 year old and dog."
It was very comfortable, clean and set in a lovely spot at The Bay. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed to make our stay stress free and relaxing. Only slight downside was the shower that just needs a little attention due to age. Would recommend and considering staying again next year.
"This is a great cottage and very comfortable."
It’s been well looked after and one of the best holiday cottages we’ve stayed in over the years. The beds are super comfy which really helps too! It’s also well kitted out. The cottage location on the resort is great and we liked that the whole site is so well kept. The over all standard of cleanliness was good however some attention to detail would make it excellent: the kitchen cupboard doors need a good clean - we found them all sticky; the oven needs a good clean too, or else replace the shelves which look dirty/rusty; the pots and pans also should be checked before arrival - we found both pots with the remains of some one else’s food. The cooker extractor fan does not work - not big issue as we opened the window, but given the open plan layout it would be useful.. This is a small point but the owners information pack should be left on display and needs updated; we found it in the cutlery drawer; the Bayside Cafe no longer exists! And finally ahead of arrival, it would be good to know you can book swimming slots up to 3 weeks ahead of your stay. We were not aware of this and resulted in all swimming slots being fully booked for the duration of our stay. Our 11year old was very disappointed by this and so we’re we. As said above it’s a lovely spacious cottage especially the open plan living room, dining, kitchen area (don’t think the pictures do it justice) and we’d stay here again. Thanks
"Lovely location, brilliant cottage."
Wonderfully decorated and kitted out. We really Enjoyed our stay thank you.
"Stopped at Nantucket before, hope to stay there again."
Clean and well appointed. The Bay site is spotless, however the only source of food is the John Paul Jones, the cafe is currently closed, the food and service at the pub are both substandard and best avoided.
"Cooker extractor fan not working to take away breakfast smell ..."
Cooker extractor fan not working to take away breakfast smell There was no laundry bag that we could find to put our laundry in at the end of our stay But all in all it was a lovely place
"This Cottage is fantastic!"
Warm, very well equipped, clean, lovely big bath, and a comfy bed. A couple of minutes walk from the pool and the pub. 10-15 minutes walk to the beach. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be going back!

"Excellent property on a lovely site We've already booked again for next year."
Very clean and well equipped. A very relaxing stay had by all.
"The double matress in the master bedroom need turning or changing as its very lumpy and uncomfortable."
The kitchen table needs a deep clean as very sticky from the varnish. The WiFi need upgrading as can't watch films on the fire stick and there is no dvd player. The landing bulb was not working. These comments are for improvement purposes and not to be used as negativity comments. Lovely a warm and homely place to stay on a lovely site. We really enjoyed our weeks stay.
"Had a very enjoyable stay at the Nantucket, the weather was very kind and had five glorious sunny days."
The facilities at the cottage provided us with everything that we required even under Covid restrictions. We have stayed at the Bay on numerous occasions and find the site to be very clean and in a great place to reach all other coastal areas.
"No every thing was fine and we had a really good relaxing 2 weeks"
"Generally the property was clean and had a few basic provisions."
Unfortunately the cooker ignition rarely worked, we had problems with the boiler resulting in the heating randomly coming on when it was 30 degrees outside and not having hot water. Also the vacuum didn't work. The Bay resort was great and all the leisure/entertainment facilities were Covid secure and made you feel very safe.

Filey beach is fantastic especially if you have a dog to enjoy it with you and will definitely be returning soon.
"Nantucket is a lovely cottage at the Bay Filey, with everything you need for a week away."
This was our second stay here and equally as comfortable as before.

"We really enjoyed our stay, the cottage was lovely and is situated in an ideal location to travel to other towns nearby."
Lovely beach just a short walk from the cottage which allows dogs. The whole resort is very dog friendly which was perfect! Would recommend walking to the Royal Oak Pub which is just under a mile walk from the cottage which serves good food.
"The Bay is a great location."
The cottage is lovely.
"Overall a lovely cottage"
"Lovely cottage - had everything we needed, very clean."
Great complex - super facilities. Doglad friendly atmosphere is super. Pub on complex was dog friendly & catered for gluten free diets - so was perfect. 10/10 for everything.
"Whoever the cleaner is needs to clean the shower head, the shower screen and the oven had a used grill pan."
No one's fault apart from the cleaner. The place was good and I would stop again. The mattress wad extremely hard though. But I suppose that's personal preference.
"Accommodation was lovely and clean and had everything we needed."
The complex was brilliant. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a get away.
"Great base to discover the North Yorkshire coast, there's a nice walk up the beach (dog friendly) to Filey."
Its about 1 hour by car to Whitby for a great day out. We took the bus from Filey to Scarborough with the dog £3:50 return, Flamborough Head is worth a visit The cottage itself is clean and warm with everything you could possibly need for a weeks stay, beds were comfy plenty of hot water all the mod-cons wifi works well, nice quite location. The local pub diner is Ok big portions there are other country pubs within a short drive if you fancy something different. Would definitely book again.
"We loved the cottage itself, fantastic location close to the beach."
We will definately revisit
"Lovely cottage at The Bay Filey."

"Fantastic cottage with lovely homely touches from the owners."
Great location and lots of space for the kids to play outside. Would definitely stay here again.
"Lovely cottage in a quiet spot."
Have stayed at the bay before and this is the cleanest cottage we have stayed in . Well kept, comfortable sofa , tv with firestick and Wi-Fi included . Perfect .
"Very well organised, from booking to arriving the communication and process was faultless."
The property was great, perfect location, well equipped, couldn’t fault it. Lots to do in the area to keep both adults and kids entertained, would highly recommend the cottage and Sykes.
"I had a money off voucher but forgot to use it when I booked this April break (we already had a summer holiday booked for July and went with you last year also) but when I telephoned to say so, you wouldn’t honour it."
I’ve worked in customer service practically all my life and found this extremely poor service.
"The cottage was amazing and far better than what we expected, would definitely come again and recommend to anyone"
"Excellent well appointed and clean property."
Always get good service from Sykes and they are my first option for UK bookings
"Had a fabulous holiday at Nantucket cottage."
Very relaxing, lovely long walks along the beach, dog loved it. Cottage was nice, everything you needed was there. Just a few things I could comment on! The overflow pipe in bath is not connected, while having a bath there was water coming through kitchen ceiling where lights are present. A very bad health and safety issue! Small toilet down stair has a funny musty smell in it, not very pleasant, think it could be coming from mop and bucket which is kept in there. Kettle was full of lime scale, needed de scaled. Apart from these few things all your needs for a relaxing holiday in Nantucket cottage were covered.
"A lovely cottage on an excellent holiday village."
A very dog friendly site with a beautiful beach just a short distance away. The Bay is a perfect location for exploring other areas.
"The cottage was lovely, even better than expected."
And the location was great, with the beach just a short walk and lots of places to visit which were easily accessible. A fantastic holiday all round.
"Lovely clean cottage."
Had everything we needed and in a nice area, will book again.
"I loved my holiday at the bay Filey in Nantucket cottage and will return again."
My experience with Sykes cottages has been a good one each time I have used them and highly recommend them thamkyou
"Had a fantastic weekend away wish we could move in"
"Absolutely lovely cottage , the site was a little muddy due to the building going on."
The village itself is very nice . Would like to visit again when all building work completed and weather a bit dryer . But we still enjoyed it.
"Exceptionally nice place, very clean and quiet."
Great location and had everything you could possibly need. Can't wait to come back.

About the location
Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.
Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and Minke Whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, with donkey rides available on the beach, children’s play areas, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
