Fair enough. The directions as to find their place were inadequate to say the least. It would have been much easier to say on the road up to the train station turn left and we are on the right. Instead had to park in Tescos and walk all round. It’s not a shop it’s in factory premises. The flat was clean and tidy but both the outside door and flat door needed attention as both had to be banged shut. Obsoletely no storage space was available for the food taken, other than fridge/freezer so all had to be piled on the tops. Loads of cupboards which were full of pans etc enough for an army! No booklet about the contens/workings were about and reaching the top shelves could have done with some small steps to reach. I wouldn’t consider going there again. I appreciate that nearly all of the above is not your fault but your questions don’t allow me to distinguish between you and your agent!
“The flat was basic, a little less than we expected when we booked it.”
There wasn't even an oven tray to cook anything in the oven so had to buy foil and wrap everything we cooked in foil. The sofa also wasn't comfy at all, however with the old television we didn't have much reason to sit on it. The television would flicker and lines appear on the screen, also the guide was intermittent to when it worked so we couldn't look what was on. The flat was also not that clean when we arrived. Out side of the flat the facilities were great at the bay and we loved the pool, gym and pub. However, a bag of bin rubbish was left outside the external entrance to the flat block and it wasn't long before the birds ripped it to shreds, there was rubbish everywhere!. This was left for a full day before being cleared.
“The bay is everything you advertised and more our stay there was really good.”
But the cleanliness of the apartment left a lot to be desired.the television needs repair. Light bulbs needed replacing in the bedroom .the blind in the kitchen part of the apartment was broke. Crockery and cutlery could have been cleaner. And the windows were very stiff and hard to open apart from all of that we had a lovely time.
“Nice clean place easy parking facility's brilliant”
“Nice apartment sykes very good price and have booked with them again thanks”
“I cannot recommend the bay enough.”
There are lots to do and the beach is just fantastic. As for the flat, it was a little small and not as comfortable as I would have liked. There was mild on the shower curtain as well as the grout in the bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was quite comfortable. The set of drawers was falling apart. The furnishings could be improved and I won’t be booking this flat again. ****Owner response**** Thank you for providing feedback, we are pleased you enjoyed your time at The Bay; we have address the issues raised with the cleaning team.
“As this apartment was in a very large holiday village, which we did not expect, everything was very nice and comfortable but at the same time impersonal.”
There were no instructions for the dishwasher, washing machine etc. so we felt we could not use them. Had we had a problem of any kind we would not have known who to contact. The apartment otherwise was comfortable and spacious. ****Owner Response**** Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear that the experience was not what you were expecting from your holiday. We have now ensured that all instructions and contacts details are clearer in the property
“No tv available throughout stay.”
Difficult to access wifi before12md as only available via public house. ****Owner response**** We are sorry the TV signal was disrupted during your stay, this was across region during that time and beyond our control. Wi-Fi is available in the on-site café, pub and Leisure Centre

The holiday cottage it self was pretty basic but had everything you need, more than made up for it with location on a beautiful holiday park with direct access to the beach that you can walk all the way down to filey in half an hour, and is close drive for other attractions like whitby already looking to book again

The site was large but verry quiet the only thing not on site was a shop but being out every day you could bring back your require items it's a nice stroll to Filey along the beach which is dog friendly and it goes for miles and it's not to fare to the other resorts with a very good park and ride even excepted my bus pass, could not fault this site well recommended will go again
“Apartment clean very nice”
Apartment at the bay was spacious ,very clean, well layed out all requirement met the down side for is was the ability to let two dogs out first thing in the morning and late at night without having a small wired of area, they had to be leashed and walked, plus the weather was dreadfull no one can do a lot about that ,a bonus was being able to walk dogs on the beach, good location for surrounding area, does need a shop on the estate, didn't go in the pool so cannot comment on that .
The Bay is a great base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast. The walk to Filey along the beach was beautiful. The site was clean and regular security patrols meant we felt exceptionally safe. The apartment was great and the agents were really helpful (we had to call them back as there were no bin bags and they came straight away and even brought a small bottle of wine). Two slight niggles were the street light outside the bedroom window (the blackout blinds didn't stop it coming in) and the lack of walled area to let dogs out on a morning and evening. The kitchen was well equipped (could do with taking your own tin opener though) and the flat was always warm despite the bitter weather. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and having a dog friendly pub on the doorstep made it even better.
“ideal holiday location”
Ideal location for Filey. Accommodation excellent, clean and very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Short walk to the beach. Will be returning again next year. Great for dogs.
“home from home, thoroughly enjoyable week”
We were met on arrival and shown around property even though we were late arriving, downstairs property, heating on, property warm and homely. Everything clean, and well equipped, especially loved the large bath, ideal for a relaxing soak. Peaceful site, but facilities available if you wanted, went to pub, and also used pool which was included in price, close to nice beach, lovely walk to Filey when tide was out, also walked opposite direction to Humanby.
“Lovely apartment, great location”
We were welcomed on the site and shown around the apartment, had the site layout described to us and any questions we had were answered before the chap left us to settle in. The apartment was modern and comfortable. We looked forward to returning each evening! The location is great, just a few minutes walk through the site and you're straight on to the beach. A taxi from Filey town centre back to the apartment was only a few pounds, though we were on a walking break so only used a taxi once. The site has lots to do for those who want them. There is a nice pub that also serves meals, a chemist and then there's the leisure complex where you can swim, make use of the sauna and steam rooms as well as other water based activities for all ages. There are other outdoor activities to have a go at but we didn't. The apartment was the best bit overall as it was homely and welcoming. Only slight niggle was that the street light around the back shone straight in the bedroom on a night. We put a cover up in front of the patio doors and that solved it! This did not spoil our sleep or our break at all. The site would benefit from a small convenience store as it is generally self catering, the nearest is at the garage on the main road just outside the site.
“First class break.”
The service by the local agent was superb, the apartment was everything it said in the brochure. We have stayed on this complex before and the amenities are first class, we know the local area well and there are plenty of places to see and enjoy. The weather was bitterly cold with snow but this didn't stop us from having long walks on the beaches in the area.
“peaceful and tranquial”
beautiful apartment compact but everything you needed was there, facilities were really good, pub on site did excellent food and very friendly, the swimming pool and sauna was brilliant. So close to so many facilities Brilliant location. For anyone who just needs a break from everything this place has got it. The apartment was very well equipped and even tho it did snow whilst we was there you could still reach the beach and it was a lovely walk on a cold brisk morning. Would we go back yes!!

About the location
Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.
Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and Minke Whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, with donkey rides available on the beach, children’s play areas, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
