“Very relaxing and brilliant for taking the dig for walks a long the beach”

The only problem was my wife being small could not reach the crockery in the top cupboards,a stool would be a good addition
“Great dog-friendly location, close to the beach.”
Pub and restaurant on site both excellent (although the restaurant doesn't allow dogs inside). Great to have a pool included in the price of the rental.
“This is the second time we have stayed at The Bay in a Sykes property, and in identical accommodation.”
"Seaside Cottage" is in a good central location (beware that, as number 114, it is not in the position you might think if referring to the map shown on The Bay's own website, which appears to show original plot numbers and not the eventual numbering of each accommodation). The Bay is an amazingly clean and beautifully cared-for site, although a little sterile. Its meadow and lake is perfect for walking our dog but we understand there are plans to build more houses on it - that would be a real shame. "Seaside Cottage" is well equipped and comfortable, but is in need of some TLC. A good deep clean and repair of minor things (knocks, scratches, missing handle, etc) would help, as would a better service from the company that carries out the cleaning between stays. We were also surprised on arrival to find the key safe not properly shut and the keys on view. But overall, a good holiday location.
“The site was listed as having a shop, which it doesn't.”
Just a pharmacy. Wouldn't have been a problem but there weren't things like hand soap, washing up liquid and extra toilet rolls provided in the flat. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The flat was spotless and beautifully presented.
“On the positive I really loved that the apartment was ground floor and I could access the property from the rear without having to go through the corridor.”
With having dogs this is a huge bonus and it was lovely that the apartment looked over a little courtyard. Again, this provided ease for letting my dogs out for toilet. The layout is lovely - really nice bedroom space, bathroom and well thought out living/dining/kitchen. It was nice that there were a few condiments etc. to make use of What let the place down was the cleanliness and overall comfort. The bathroom was disgusting - a thick layer of dust on the toilet roll holder, stains up the walls, the blinds had stains and muck on and worst of all urine all over the toilet :( I cleaned the bathroom myself because I couldn't stand to go in it. I did message the owner to let her know and I advised that I wanted to tell her instead of putting on a review but the gratitude for this kind gesture (bearing in mind I had just cleaned someone else's pee up) was really lacking in my opinion. The sofa was also really uncomfortable. I think it's down to personal preference though as it was so small you was left sitting upright as opposed to something you can sink into and relax after a long walk on the beach There was dust and bits of rubbish under the bed and a pair of socks down the side of the bedside cabinet that were thick with dust and hairs so god knows how long they had been there. There was no cleaning products other than dishwasher tablets which is a little disappointing. Because of the filth I actually came home early
“Good location meals at the pub were very good they also do take away.”
the flat was very warm and comfortable. There are good walks for my dog around the field and on the beach. We had a very nice and relaxing break.
Only issue we had was, we had 2 televisions, neither one worked. Wouldn't have minded, if been summer, but with snow, was isolated. Contacted owner, who said, no TV'S were working on the bay due to no channels on TV due to no signal. And there was nothing more she could do. It clearly states on information, that we had this facility, and you failed to deliver. We have holidayed with you for years, and never had a problem, also got 2 more booked this year. Found this very disappointing....
“This was a realy good holiday let but was let down because it was not clean”
“It is a central location which is ideal for both walking our dog and getting to the beach.”
The food at the pub was very nice. On the Bay Village site there is something for everyone.
“Excellent holiday the only problem was it went to quick.”
everything we we needed can not wait for the next one.
“Had a brilliant time.”
Yes the site could do with having a shop, but other than that it's a fantastic place. Came back home yesterday and have booked again for September .
“The only thing missing from Bay Village is a shop but other than that a lovely place and would rebook”

About the location
Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.
Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, with donkey rides available on the beach, children’s play areas, crazy golf and candy floss! Nearby, Flamborough Head boasts high cliffs with exhilarating walks and Bempton Cliffs are a haven for bird lovers. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
