“Could do with some instructions on the heating controls.”
“Streetlight directly outside bedroom.”
Would suggest blackout blind fitted.(Had to put a blanket up to darken the room) Sofa in poor very poor condition. In need of repair or repla cement. Still had a very enjoyable stay.
“We have always used Sykes we have never been disappointed but this apartment owner needs to step it up.”
The apartment wasn't as clean as it should be, there is also a sofa which has been destroyed and covered up with a blanket. Could also be doing with a fresh paint. The complex it's self is gorgeous and right on the beach for us dog owners. They also should provide Wi-Fi which would help to keep people interested.
“We arrived after a long drive, and finding our apartment took an age,in the end we had to go back to reception and ask.”
We were advised by Sykes that this apt had WiFi, it really does not and no phone signal either, also said the place had patio with chairs and table and bbq access, there was none of these either, so we felt let down as the weather was lovely and would of loved to eat outside. Kitchen was not easy,no instructions for cooker/washer or microwave, not many plates ect,and when i found the frying pan it was dirty and needed washing and also had to bleach teapot as it was awful. I had read other feedback before booking, and thought things would of been changed from what people said ,but the sofa was so uncomfortable, and badly ripped ect, not a great image, the mattress on the bed was so bad to sleep on, you sank down in it and so lumpy, they had tried to make it better by putting a quilt under the sheets, didn't work for us. Toilet seat was broken, and seal on shower door perished. The Bay complex itself was a beautiful place, short wall to the beach which is great to and the meadow and lakes was lovely ,The Paul Jones pud was a nice place, great food and good prices, and nice staff, lovely place for a truley relaxing holiday, and our dog loved it,very dog friendly and also in the pub. These things with our apartment was annoying and dissapointing, but it did not spoil our holiday,i just think a little money spent on the apt would make it alot better.

Had a great holiday,,,, the property said it had a patio which it didn’t,,,, it had bit of grass and no chairs we had to go out and buy chairs so we could sit outside,,, would recommend the owner replaces couch as it is all ripped,, but all in all had a great time
“On arrival it took us quite a while to find our apartment as the layout is quite confusing.”
Apart from that we had an enjoyable stay.
“On entering the flat we could smell something like lard.”
On investigation we found an upturned frying pan in the third drawer which had the remnants of an omelette in it. This was going mouldy. We soaked the frying pan overnight and fortunately the smell and remains disappeared. We knew that the settee was damaged as previous reviewers had highlighted this. Disappointed to find that this was still the case. We found dog hairs on the settee cover and underneath the settee on the floor there was dust, grit and hairs. I had to vac the settee and the floor for us to be comfortable. I appreciate that we took our dog with us and the flat is a pet friendly one but we did think that the standard of cleanliness would be better. The temperature control on the shower was very misleading as the coolest setting was actually showing maximum on the thermostat. The water was very hot (no complaints there) but I think the control should be looked at. Possibly put on the wrong way?
“Listing was perfect as the saying goes it does what it says on the tin.”
The flat was perfect for getting to the beach and ideal with having the four legged friend. The on site pub was handy however the site could do with more options for getting something to eat. The only recommendations I would add would be 1 more crockery 2 better cleaning equipment like a mop and bucket and more than a postage stamp for a cleaning cloth 3 the furniture in the flat needs replacing ( sofa was all torn but covered with a blanket and all the tables and bedside furniture were all covered in cup ring marks )

Fantastic cottage everything we needed could do with instructions for the microwave and cooker but otherwise no problems Bed was good but a bit lumpy in parts but did not spoil our holiday will book again
“Comfy accommodation and near to the lovely beach near Filey.”
Very dog friendly and also dogs allowed in the pub which served excellent food. I hadn't noticed that this was a ground floor apartment so had a lot of noise when the people upstairs were in as they seemed to spend all evening stomping about so wouldn't book this property again just for that reason. Also my holiday confirmation said there was a shop on site which we were unable to find so had to drive out to a supermarket to top up on provisions. A shop would be ideal and am sure would do a roaring trade on this site. I noticed someone previously had asked for instructions to operate the oven and microwave and I would like to add that this would be really useful.
“Lovely cosy and warm flat with welcoming toilet rolls and carton of milk when we arrived.”
Easy to find and get into via key safe. Loved the location with 15 min walk to beautiful beach which our dog loved. Flat had fitted kitchen which was not most practical as cupboards very high and needed step stool to reach. No instructions for using cooker and microwave which would have been helpful but we managed fine. We had light bulb go in hall which you really need as no natural light in hallway but we took one from bedroom to ensure we could light up when we got in. Kitchen utensils and baking trays limited and again would have been useful as it got dark early and we mostly cooked in evening. Heating on all the time and very comfortable and cosy and retained heat so when we came back after being out all day it was already warm and inviting. We loved the estate and facilities of pool and such and plenty of bins for dog waste which was great as we took dog with us and lots of dogs in complex so clearly popular for family pets. We would recommend flat and location and we loved the coastal area in this part of the UK, and we will certainly come back again.
“We loved and would love to go back”
“It was cosy.”
Close to Filey and shops. Could walk on the beach nearby. Parking just outside. Pub where we could take our dog and use wi fi. Would go there again.
“Very enjoyable stay.”

About the location
Scarborough 7.5 miles; Bridlington 11 miles.
Filey is a traditional English seaside resort with a friendly atmosphere, offering a restful holiday, making an ideal place to stay for walkers and wildlife watchers at any time of the year. A real gem on the Yorkshire coast. A fishing town on the North East Coast, Filey has enjoyed a reputation of being a resort since Victorian times, set beside the magnificent Filey Bay, a long stretch of beautiful sand, with Filey Brigg and its shallow rockpools to the north. Filey Brigg is a low headland that protects Filey Bay and provides good bird watching and seawatching opportunities all year round. The 400 ft high Bempton Cliffs (RSPB Reserve) to the south of Filey Bay are home to over 250,000 seabirds in the summer. gannets, kittiwakes, puffins, guillimots and razorbills all nest there. Gannets are regularly seen diving for fish in Filey Bay. The Brigg area is an ideal place to watch for common and rarer waders, seabirds and migrating warblers, finches and thrushes. As well as seabirds, seals and other marine life, such as porpoises dolphins and Minke Whales can be seen in the sea around the Brigg. The town itself seems almost caught in a time warp, retaining much of its character with individual shops, narrow paths and ginnels. There is a small coble landing, a slipway where local fishermen keep their boats, plus delightful beach chalets that can be hired through the summer months. The bay is edged with two promenades and there are various gardens, where brass bands play on a Sunday afternoon. This small town is family orientated, with donkey rides available on the beach, children’s play areas, crazy golf and candy floss. Also in Filey there is the Filey Dams Nature Reserve, a wetland reserve where common and rare waders and wildfowl can be seen as well as autumn gatherings of swallows, sand martins and house martins. Also there is Parish Wood (just off Sycamore Avenue) an unexpected gem that offers a wealth of wildlife. Willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap and tree sparrows breed there and a wide variety of other species are regularly seen such as great spotted woodpeckers and sparrow hawks. Parish Wood also provides shelter and food for a wide range of migrant bird species such as goldcrests, pied and spotted flycatchers, warblers, finches, thrushes and woodcocks. A short drive brings you to the busier town of Scarborough where for family fun you can visit the Alpamare Waterpark, a waterpark unlike anything the UK has ever seen before, as well as plenty to explore and discover in this lovely area.
