  • "Lovely Cottage, with everything required for a very comfortable stay."

Beautiful quiet site, close to all amenities. We'll be back next year.

  • "A comfy apartment, very well situated for exploring the area."

Good pub close by and a handy Co op also a short stroll away. Convenient and cheap public transport links to the resorts of Filey, Bridlington, Scarborough and further afield, York for example is about an hour away by train. There are also plenty of lovely local walks too. The lady on reception was very friendly and informative. We had a great week. I couldn't fault the accommodation or the area.

  • "The property was clean and smelt fresh."

Could do with a new sofa, it was very worn and you sank into so much you couldn't get out if it! It could do with a little update decorating wise but otherwise was a great cottage

Our only issue was a dodgy toilet flush towards the end of our stay and whilst the service provided in regards to visiting and assessing, the issue was not fully resolved by the time we left.

  • "Although there were only two of us there was insuffient crockery and cutlery , more or less only being three of everything, which was less than we required for our catering needs."

We were given more on request. The central heating, on a timer, was too warm in the bedrooms without thermostatic valves which would have enabled us to turn it down and thereby save the company money. It was very uncomfortable at bedtime. We did advise the office about this on our departure. Apart from the above, we found the surroundings very peaceful and excellent for ourselves and our dog.

We bought febreeze for the furniture as it smelt really badly.

  • "This was booked knowing that they had pets ."

But people must let their pets use the sofas. The smell of dog's was horrible. We bought lots of strong sprays but they didn't make any difference. The central heating in the bedrooms wasn't working. Totally ruined our stay.

  • "The cottage had everything we needed and is in a great location close to lots of things we wanted to do."

The 3 of us found it served our purposes but it would probably be on the small side in the kitchen/eating area if your children are older or theres 4 of you. The cleaning let's it down and isn't very thorough. The lounge smelled like wet dogs when we arrived, and several times during our stay my 4 year olds produced a wrapper from something from previous guests, we also found a dirty sock on the sofa. Our stay was in the last week of August, which was a bit wet, weather wise and towards the end of the time the cottage got very damp, clothes we left out started to get damp and even the beds and sofas ( possibly the cause of the damp dog smell?). We used the heating to help but only 1 radiator worked. Overall the cottage has the things you need but it needs work and updated furnishings. We still had a great holiday.

  • "The place absolutely stank of dogs."

I appreciate it is a pet friendly let however we have stayed in places before and it hasn't been that bad. The sofas, carpet and bed stank of dogs making it quite clear that people has let them go anywhere! I did report it and by the evening I had some frebreeze and plug in. We felt like we stank having sat in there. It also wasn't very clean. A quick surface clean has obviously happened but there was dirt on the kitchen walls and the floor divider between the living area and kitchen was filthy. We cleaned it with a wipe and it was black. Really disappointing!

Some of the fittings and decor in the cottage are getting a little tired, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, but wouldn’t put me off going back...on the whole a 7/10 warm, comfortable and in a great location a short drive to the coast...Just right for a short break...

  • "The cleaning contractors really let the owners down on this property."

We spent the first hour of our stay cleaning the kitchen, it was so bad. The lounge had been used as a dog toilet, not just the carpets and rug but also the sofas. Really disappointed but had to stay as everywhere else was booked. Did leave after 5 nights as smell was unbearable. Anne at reception was helpful.
