  • "We loved the cottage but because we both suffer with arthritis the settees were quite low and there was no grab rail on the wall of the bath/shower."

However, we did like the location and the fact that it was peaceful and very scenic. Would recommend staying there.

  • "When we arrived there was a fusty smell which I took up with Ann the owner who explained it was because it was a 17th century cottage and due to the hot weather."

The hot water tap was faulty and I reported this too. It was repaired but did not get repaired properly and was just a fudged job. I would not recommend this property for the following reasons:- Quite dirty Unwelcoming i.e. the pottery in the cottage was very basic and nothing seemed liike we were being treated well on holiday - very small cups and very small bowls for breakfast No fairy liquid or handwash and skimpy bin liners that were useless The list is endless it was not cleaned very well and it was far too basic and not near enough as good as other properties we have stayed in

  • "The primrose cottage is lovely and we enjoyed our stay."

The bed was very comfy and the shower excellent. It was nice to receive complimentary tea/coffee/biscuits etc on arrival. The only downfall for me was not enough plug sockets and mirrors in convenient places. Glad I took a small makeup mirror with me. Overall a clean well kept accommodation.

  • "Really enjoyed our time at Orchard farm cottages, the cottage was comfortable and clean."

The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. A small secure field was amazing we were able to let the dogs have a run first thing in the morning. Thank you

  • "This was my second visit to Orchard farm cottages, having enjoyed my first visit in "Orchid" I decided to book again but could only get "primrose"."

On arrival I noticed a bedroom window was wide open so I went upstairs to close it, I opened the bedroom door and failed to notice the step, subsequently I fell full length into the bedroom and fortunately no serious injuries were sustained. However I had bruising on my arm and hip. Further to this I was constantly bumping my head on the low doorways throughout my stay. There is a serious health and safety issue with this property! Wouldn't it make sense to highlight these problem areas with safety notices? To summarise I did not enjoy my stay and felt cheated as this property was not value for money!!

  • "Booked last minute for the bank holiday weekend."

Was a great size and very clean. Super location for accessing the nearby beaches but also enjoyed going round the pubs in the village in the evening. Would recommend.

  • "We enjoyed Primrose Cottage and would recommend to anyone."

The cottage itself could do with a little TLC, but would definitely stay again. The site is nice and the staff we met friendly. Orchard farm is also a great base to explore the local area.

  • "The advert for the cottage under sells it a bit."

It’s a brilliant cottage. Spacious, clean, quiet & cosy. There was no picture of the main bedroom so I didn’t know what to expect but it was a lovely room. We all loved it and would love to come back. The site is a brilliant place for families. Great playground. Loved the dog area and the green spaces. Great location. Only negatives were no private outside space, which is nice on a sunny evening but no big problem, and there were no oven trays or oven dishes, and for a self catering holiday it wasn’t great. I had to go and buy my own while I was there.

The owners were very helpful and the site and facilities were also kept clean and tidy. We enjoyed it so much, we have booked again for a week in June.

  • "No mention was made of cottage being on a busy, noisy road, making a good sleep virtually impossible."

TV reception very poor, picture kept pixalating. Single beds were uncomfortable, with springs sticking through mattresses. Bedside lamps gave off a very low light making it impossible to read by. Sink in bathroom was far to small, more of a cloakroom sink, making it difficult to use, only able to clean teeth in it. Dried flower ornament on sitting room windowsill thick of dust.

  • "Nice area, great local amenities, dog friendly area which suited us."

Beautiful beaches, great walks would look to re-visit sometime.

  • "The cottage was lovely but it was not very clean we had to clean all the cutlery and worktops in the kitchen."

There was no toilet roll which suprised me. Also no iron but there was an ironing board who takes an iron on holiday. There was not much information about the site or surrounding areas like things to do and places to go. Could do with an information pack.
