  • "This is the most beautiful house in a pretty village ."

It is lovingly furnished with period furniture and artefacts befitting its age . It was very comfortable both in the seating areas and the bedrooms . The bedding and curtains were luxurious and spotlessly clean . Our family of seven adults and four children had plenty of room to play and relax both inside and outside the house in the fabulous garden . The spotless kitchen was certainly well equipped and had everything you need to cook a meal for eleven people and we enjoyed the seating area in the garden while having our barbacue . If you appreciate an historical setting surrounded by period furnishings, then this is the house to stay in .The house is a credit to the hosts Heather and Kevin . The location is great for the coastal towns nearby and also the water park which is just down the road. (The water park hosts the weekly Parkrun as well as water activities ) A most memorable time was had by all . Celia Gibson

Thank you for leaving a lovely feedback on Manor Farm holiday cottage and so pleased you had a lovely relaxing week! Kind regards Heather Property Owner

  • "Lovely house but not maintained, un hygienic kitchen , sink was dirty under edge of work top."

Cracked fridge in the interior .Bird mess on all outside chairs. Did expect a detached house but found downstairs half rooms shared with other people.

Thank you for your feedback. Disappointed with your comments, the kitchen is cleaned to a very high standard. The sink is actually a Belfast sink and the sealant is slightly discoloured it is not dirty and the sealant is being replaced. The interior of the fridge is just crazed not cracked. The owners do live on site and this is clearly stated on the website, the actual property is not shared with anyone. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic four night stay at Manor House over New Year."

Bedding and beds were luxurious and the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the open fire every night. The front of the home is picturesque with a huge garden. Close to nearly villages but far enough away to feel you are remote and relaxed away from the busy world. Drive five miles and you are back in the hustle and bustle of life. Would highly recommend and would definitely consider returning. Thank you

  • "Overall we were very happy with the property and grounds which were ideal for our family get together."

The only issues were the shower in the en-suit which I could not get to function and the oil cloth and mats on the fitchen table which were very sticky and needed a good clean.

  • "We had a fantastic holiday at Manor farm."

There were 9 of us staying and there was plenty of space for us all, and the garden was perfect for three little ones running around and fully enclosed. Owners were brilliant, the oven broke on our first day and by the next day there was a new oven. They also helped us fill a paddling pool to keep our little ones cool. Would definitely recommend.

Lots of time spent at the nearby lake: cycling, swimming and paddle boarding, then relaxing in the vast garden on an evening. We will definitely be back! Thank you

  • "Manor Farm is a lovely, comfortable, and friendly house."

An open fire in a cosy but spacious sitting room, a big country kitchen, and a four-poster bed. There was a nice surprise on arrival with a bottle of fizz, flowers, and more. The location is secluded and quiet and also very convenient for Scarborough - about 15 mins in the car. There is also an easy walk of a mile to a couple of good pubs and a fish restaurant. We had a great time.

  • "We stayed at Manor Farm Cottage for 5 nights and we will definitely be going back."

The cottage is excellent and well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Heather (the owner) is an excellent host and is only too happy to help and assist in any way possible. Everything about the cottage is excellent especially the open fire in the living room, we had a roaring log fire most nights. I would highly recommend this cottage and rate it 10/10.

  • "Our party of 10 ranged in age from nearly 2yrs to nearly 70yrs."

We had an amazing time at the cottage, which was just big enough for us. It is in a very good location for plenty of places where all the family can go. The facilities were good, although the upstairs plumbing could do with a few tweaks. It was beautifully furnished and there was plenty of crockery, tableware and cooking utensils. The front garden was an absolute joy for the children: in fact, for all of us, and we spent a full day in it halfway through the week just to give ourselves a rest from going out. Just down the road is a wonderful pub, The Valley Forge in West Ayton, which served good, hearty meals at really good prices. We took hundreds of photos between us and will have very happy holiday memories for years to come, thanks to this wonderful place.

  • "Had a lovely 3 day New Years break with our family of 8 adults."

My only criticism would be that the beds in the single room were not very comfortable, however the 3 doubles were lovely. We enjoyed the 2 open fires and used the 2 sacks of logs that we brought with us. Spent many hours sitting around the big dining room table playing games. There was a problem with the electric supply upstairs but the owner was helpful and very quickly resolved the problem . We would recommend this property.
