  • "We've stayed in quite a few cottages in the last few years but Sycamore Cottage is our favourite so far."

The cottage itself is spacious, tastefully decorated, and furnished with everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The owners were very friendly too. The lovely village location is ideal, with two dog-friendly pubs within easy walking distance - the one just 30 seconds away serves delicious pub food in huge portions! There are also some really nice riverside and countryside walks just near the cottage. Definitely a cottage that we'd be happy to go back to.

  • "Sycamore Cottage is absolutely stunning."

The surroundings are beautiful and we loved watching the squirrels playing in the trees and sometimes on the patio too. The owners have thought of everything in this house and it's so comfortable and homely that we wanted to be there just as much as we wanted to explore all of the gorgeous villages and towns nearby, so made sure we did both in equal measures. The owners live nextdoor (by nextdoor I mean down the drive) and greeted us as we arrived then left us to it until returning to say goodbye, but made it clear they were there if we needed anything. They also left tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk for us to use, and a box of chocs as a warm welcome gift which was lovely and appreciated. I wouldn't think twice about staying here again - it's spacious and homely, a fantastic base for visiting a host of different places and dog friendly too - no negatives at all. Looking forward to staying again in the future.

  • "Throughly enjoyed our time in sycamore cottage."

The house is very well equipped and beautifully furnished to a high standard, we couldn’t fault anything. We are a family of five with two teenagers and a 9 year old and there was plenty of space for us all. We particularly loved the large fridge in the kitchen and how comfortable all the beds are! The owners were very helpful and on hand if needed. There are plenty of things to do in the surrounding area, we’d recommend visiting Ormesby Hall National Trust and Saltburn-By-The-Sea.

Everything has been carefully considered to ensure their guests have the best holiday possible. The kids loved the play area and the attic room; the adults really appreciated the peace and quiet and the very comfy sofas and beds. Can’t really praise it enough. Altogether an excellent holiday and one to repeat next year as there is so much to see and do in the area. You won’t regret booking this one.

The facilities were amazing and the pub next door (wheatsheif) was amazing quality recommended by the owner. The sites around were amazing and just down the hill was a lovely old church and a river which my dog loved a good swim. • "Here is my review of Sycamore cottage - we had a great time: We had a wonderful stay at Sycamore Cottage."

The house is beautiful, set over three floors and decorated to a very high standard. The house had everything we needed from cutlery to lovely cost bedding, perfect for this cold weather. We were also greeted by the owner on arrival, despite arriving at 9pm at night. The owners are so thoughtful that they made sure we had milk and chocolates in the fridge which were very welcome after a long journey from London and meant we didn’t have to worry about getting milk in the morning. These little details make all the difference. The house was also exceptionally clean and located close to Yarm, with a convenience shop not far from the house where you can pick up everything you need. There’s also a little pub 2 mins walk away that do a great takeaway. An added bonus was being able to bring our little dog with us and there were wonderful places close by to take her for walks. It’s a beautiful cottage set in a gorgeous part of Middlesbrough and I cannot recommend it enough. We will definitely be back.

This is a lovely property, privately situated which contains everything you might need whilst staying there. Positives: Plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses Books games and plenty of films /tv to access All the rooms we used were comfortable and cosy. Host Steven was very quick to remedy a problem Negatives: we felt the kitchen and bathroom whilst on first glance were fresh and clean, would benefit from a more thorough clean, and the lounge furnishings had a subtle sweaty odour. Places to visit include National glass and contemporary art centre Sunderland RSPB Saltholm And treat yourselves at ‘G&tea’ just outside Stokesley

We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for saying you liked our lovely property. We are always looking for ways to improve guests experience at our property. We have taken your comments on board about detecting an slight odor on the furnishings, we have now had all the carpets and sofas in the property professionally cleaned. Property Owner
