  • "On arriving at the property we noticed how pretty the location is ."

The entrance is located around the side of the property and only one parking space next to the gate in front of the shop. You go through 1 front doors and pass the cafe toilet to the entrance of the flat. Area at the bottom of the stairs great for shoes and coats. The flat is very spacious 3 bedrooms, lounge and kitchen and bathroom. We went with my elderly parents and we didn't feel on top of each other plus they had there own rooms. Clean sheets and towels and comfy beds. Well equipped kitchen nice little touches on arrival and milk provided. Downside to kitchen no oven gloves provided. Bathroom good storage but no hooks for towels. Heating good made flat nice and warm on cool evenings. Used the washer and dryer located outside under the house . Downside to this property for us was the shop underneath , the lady who runs it played her music very loudly at 8am on arrival in her car and in the shop. Waking us up on multipl occasions, did mention this to her but she seem to take it personally and made no difference. But when you work long shifts and this is your holiday you want to have a lie in and didn't get it especially choosing a rural location and beautiful surrounding. Also the shop fridge humming noise kept my dad awake at night. It's such a shame as we all had loads of fun and the flat was lovely great location pub straight across the road lovely and friendly too , but personally I would not stay here again . Please don't let my review put you off as you may have a totally different experience.

  • "Nice property set on 1st floor of converted school building in a rather quiet village."

Pub opening times appear to be erratic. Well equipped kitchen, quirky detail is the laundry area is in the cellar, reached by some steps outside the main property. Ã’ne slight problem was that the toilet/shower room had a broken lock we reported this to the owners and it was still not replaced on departure from property. Overall a very nice property though in need of a little maintenance and decoration to fulfill its potential.

  • "A well located property in the charming village of Hutton le Hole over a small deli."

We were surprised by how spacious this flat was, and the building itself is very interesting. Although the music from the deli downstairs could be heard from the double bedroom (but not the others) this was not in itself a problem as we had already been woken by the light streaming in despite curtains. A blind would have been appreciated. The kitchen is very well equipped, however the bathroom does not have a towel rail and there was nowhere really suitable for drying towels. The property could do with a coat of paint in some areas and both the games that we tried to use were incomplete and one was broken. There were no instructions with regards to the bins, and although we did telephone the owners to enquire, and left a message, nobody got back to us, although this may very well be because there is no mobile reception in the village. All in all, Hutton le Hole is lovely, and a few very small tweaks to the flat are all that are needed to improve it greatly.

  • "Beautiful holiday accommodation in a perfect village."

Parking isn't easy: on a corner with three-way traffic, and often a large van parked adjacent so you are backing out blind. The public carpark for extra vehicles is not 24-hours (overnight not allowed). The TV is small and difficult to see from dining table. Courtyard was unattractive, including rubbish blown down there, and we didn't use. Washing machine shared on one occasion (possibly with cleaner – it was very full of sheets etc). You need to telephone the owners for the key instructions, rather than a normal email from the agency, and in our case that was difficult. So some negatives, but overall the lovely flat, lovely building, lovely village, meant a very good recommendation.

About the location

HUTTON-LE-HOLE

Kirkbymoorside 3.5 miles; Pickering 8 miles.

Situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and handily placed for touring both Moors and Coast, the idyllic little village of Hutton-le-Hole is widely accepted as the prettiest in the area. Charming stone built cottages cluster around undulating village greens, with a stream (Hutton Beck) passing through. It's the perfect spot to sit and watch the world go by - but don't be surprised to find sheep grazing next to you! The village is home to the Ryedale Folk Museum, a 'hands on' museum of local life and tradition, which includes a reconstructed Elizabethan Manor House, farm buildings and craft shops. The village also has a complex of craft shops, workshops, tea rooms and gift shops. Nearby the attractive old market town of Kirkbymoorside lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, in between the towns of Helmsley and Pickering. It's a charming place with a slightly 'old fashioned feel' and visitors will find plenty to keep them occupied in the many shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. There is even an 18 hole course for golf enthusiasts and Pickering is the base of the North York Moors Steam Railway - a 'must do' day out for all visitors to the area. Both the City of York and the Yorkshire Coast are within easy driving distance.

This property offers the following short breaks:
