"Nice cottage in the middle of the village."
Enclosed yard safe for children to play in. Well equipped with fridge, small freezer compartment, washing machine and tumble drier. My only suggested improvement would be to provide some unbreakable plates and bowls for use when eating outside.
Thank you for your suggestion. I will see about providing some unbreakable items now that the weather is hopefully getting warmer.

"Was pleasantly surprised with the property."
It was clean, adorable and more importantly, exactly like the pictures! The locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately when we went it was heavy rain all weekend so we were limited to what we could do. Bridlington town was only a 15min drive away and once again was lovely even in the rain (our dog didn't think so) it was also right on the coast so I could imagine on a sunny day the town would be busy. Would definitely stop again especially in the summer. The owners also were great. Answered every question I had with no problems and replies via sms were really fast too. Would definitely like to return some point in the future to go visit the cliffs which look spectacular!
Thank you , It would be great to welcome you back. So glad that the rain didn't spoil your weekend too much! British Weather!!

"A real, authentic cottage in a lovely village."
I booked two long stays at Lena Cottage and enjoyed every minute of them. It has the feel of a genuine 'lived in', homely cottage, almost like a trip back in time. Yes, the steps were steep and the treads a little shallow but that was all part of the charm and just required a bit of extra care. The cottage had all the facilities needed for a 'get away from it all' holiday break and the village of Kilham, with its renowned pub and hill top church, was charming without being in any way contrived. The pub is a rare, surviving example of a classic English village pub, comprising several small rooms with open fires, friendly locals, great beer and delicious food. There is a small garage and shop just round the corner from the cottage, which I found very handy for both petrol and basic supplies. Being only 9 miles from Bridlington, Lena Cottage makes an excellent base for exploring both the coast and the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds. Jo, the owner, went out of her way to make us feel welcome and even provided Christmas trimmings to add the appropriate seasonal touch. I look forward to staying here again.

"A quaint and cosy, well equipped cottage."
However the steep staircase with uneven risers, caused my husband to fall down them, from top to bottom, the first night that we were there, despite being aware of this from a previous review. (He is fit and active, with no 'mobility issues'. So PLEASE, PLEASE, be aware, and take extra care on the stairs. He had to sleep downstairs thereafter, being badly bruised in the fall. Otherwise we spent time in the well kept and secure gardens, which offered generous off road parking.

Jo went above and beyond to get a new shower installed for us, as on the first night the shower broke...... same day a new one was put straight in with no problems.
The only thing I can say that was not comfy was the double mattress, it could do with being replaced. I would definitely recommend Lena cottage to friends and family. We will be visiting again x

"This is our second stay at Lena cottage and as was again a wonderful holiday!"
The cottage is over 200 years old and oozes character! We love staying here! The owner is lovely and extremely helpful and there on the phone if you need her. The cottage is beautifully kept, spotless throughout and lots of movies and board games to play We enjoyed sitting outside of an evening on the patio area, very relaxing. Unfortunately the pub directly opposite the cottage has now closed down however the star just down the road (4min walk) has exceptional food and definitely worth a visit during your stay at Lena. Bridlington is about 20mins drive from the cottage so you are near to lots of beautiful places- we also like to visit Robin Hoods Bay which is not far away. Would certainly recommend Lena cottage; it gets a 10/10 from us! See you again soon!

The best equipped cottage we have stayed in. Our dog would agree with us! We would highly recommend the village pub, The Old Star Inn - a very friendly atmosphere and good, wholesome food. If you could update your website, as the Village stores has recently closed, and one of the pubs in Kilham, The Bay Horse, has also closed in September 2019.
The Old Star Inn however is a fine Old fashioned Village pub serving excellent food and ales. It is very dog friendly and the locals are a very friendly crowd.

A beautiful quirky little cottage with bags of character! The place was spotless and is very apparent that it is a very loved place by it's owner! Jo is lovely and very helpful. The pub across the road (The Bay Horse) does THE most fantastic homemade food! (The steak is HIGHLY recommended!).
The cottage had lots of added extras which was so lovely, such as; a range of DVDs, games and books, biscuits and teabags/coffee etc.
Jo has also put together a very informative folder of local attractions and amenities.

As detailed in the description, the stairs are very steep and the twin bedroom door is really low but we had to use this room as the bed in the double room is not full size and only just fits in the room. Our son was very happy to use that room.
The garden is a lovely size but not private and not secure enough to leave dogs.
