  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

The converted barn is a charming and spacious home, tastefully decorated and suitably clean for the most part with only very minor exceptions. The location was excellent - peaceful and rural. We enjoyed long walks and the beautiful coastline. Tunstall Beach is one of the most picturesque and clean beaches I've been to. Visit other places nearby such as the town of Hornsea, Castle Howard and York. The village of Tunstall is well-kept and people are very friendly. The owners take pride in their property and maintain it well. Highly recommend it and would come back another time.

  • "The house was spacious, warm, comfortable and light."

The outside area was spacious and peaceful, despite being part of a busy farm. We loved the rural nature of the area and would certainly return.

  • "Accommodation clean, comfortable and spacious but basic."

Not what I would call homely, unlike other cottages we have stayed in, there was not even cruets or hair drier. Possible beginners may-be?? Owners kindly left us some fresh bread and eggs. They efficiently emailed the key safe code the day before along with the WiFi pass. Cottage situated on a farm which is very tidy and quiet. Very small village with pretty church surrounded by beautiful country side. 10. MINS to Withernsea where there is an Aldi and Tesco, garage after Tesco where petrol reasonable. Very good fish and chips but long queues. You have to travel at least 45 mins to find something to do unless you are happy to sit on the beach which is very good. Sykes company are very efficient and helpful - have used them more than once.

  • "Lavender Lodge was excellent ."

Very clean tidy property.Beds clean good linen and comfy.Nice touch of a fresh loaf and 6 really fresh eggs. Just a small niggle a couple of microwavable plastic bowls would have been useful and a clock in the kitchen . Would certainly stay again.

  • "Spacious accommodation in a very quiet location, but not a lot going on around."

Need car journey for most activities but some local works. well suited for those wanting a peaceful holiday. All necessary facilities there but some very minor emissions, eg No separate bin for recyclable waste. Excellent value for money at the price we were charged.

  • "It would been a good thing if the owners had left us with a electric kettle, as it was it took ages to boiler the kettle on the stove."

    Only a minor issue.

  • "We loved our holiday home, it's in a very relaxed setting, surrounded by open countryside and views of the seaside."

We enjoyed waking up to the sounds of hens clucking. Our home had everything that we needed but help was on hand close by if anything was needed. Fresh eggs and bread was very much appreciated.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday and were comfortable but for 4 things."

    1. No Ice box in the fridge which we did need for medical reasons. 2. Lack of any blind on skylight in bedroom. 3. It took 13minutes to boil enough water for 2 people to have a drink! We had to go out and buy an electric kettle which took 2 minutes thus saving electricity and meaning we could get out and enjoy ourselves instead of planning our days around waiting for the kettle to boil! 4. The instructions for the halogen hob were not the correct ones for our model.

  • "The lodge is lovely, clean, modern and with some great views, perfect if you want a quiet break and like walking/cycling."

Even though the lodge is advertised as no pets some of the other lodges in the compound are pet friendly so be prepared for dogs running around which isn't ideal if you have nervous children. Would definitely visit again although we wanted to go back in October but £397 the week before half term and £742 for half term week is just a bit too cheeky for me.

  • "The lodge was a good size for 4 - plenty of room in lounge."

However the kitchen let the accommodation down . There were 3 dirty looking frying pans but no saucepans. I did text owner who arrived about 90 mins later with some very greasy/ rusty / dusty pans. They were too late for us to cook and too dirty to use. He did explain I could wash them but that would have been an understatement. I took photos as they were disgusting. I did not go on holiday to scrub saucepans , I did not have a scourer or any cleaning materials . The power also kept tripping , couldn’t have hob or grill on at same time. The dishwasher was greasy and the container that holds the tablet didn’t open. I do understand we have to be careful with Covid but first time I have been to a rental with out any washing up liquid, toilet rolls, or a couple of dishwasher tablets. Suggestion to leave a vacuum out as rug in lounge could have done with it - also quite grubby. The rest of the lodge was very clean and nice touch with eggs and bread. Could do with WiFi .
