  • "This was the second time me and my family have stayed at The Coach House and it was just as fantastic as the first."

We love the property and all the finishing touches which are to such a high standard. Our 2 year old son has had the best week looking at all the animals and exploring on all the walks we done, straight from The Coach House’s front door. We have all had a week of amazing sleeps in the comfortable beds at The Coach House which made the holiday for us. The Horseshoe Inn was a great pub to stop off for a drink after a nice walk, and we also had some lovely meals there when I wanted a night off from cooking, with the added bonus of a 30 second stumble home. 10/10 from us and we are already looking to book another week. We love it at The Coach House

Spotlessly clean cottage and very well appointed. The AGA range requires meal planning if used but the hob and ovens by the front door adequately allows for some good Yorkshire food,

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the Coach House."

The Boot room on entrance was perfect for casting off muddy boots and we made use of the oven on a couple of occasions. Really appreciated the bottle of wine , fresh milk and flowers. Very welcoming. Loved the look of the Aga but we weren't planning on cooking so we didn't try it out. Good shower upstairs and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed having a smart television - great size - and the sofas in the spacious lounge were very comfortable. All in all everything was great. I did have to clean the shower before we used it and the bedding could do with being replaced. Apart from these criticisms , it was a most enjoyable holiday in a lovely village with a great pub/restaurant.

The Coach House lived up to the pictures and then some! Super stylish, super clean with all mod cons in a beautiful village. We met the owners who were lovely, as were the other people we talked to who live in the village. We cannot recommend this property enough! We can't wait to return to The Coach House. Thank you for an amazing holiday!

The kitchen equipment could do with an update and a decent sized freezer would be better than the very small compartment within the big fridge . There was a lot of dirty crockery and glasses unfortunately . The local area is beautiful and we would most certainly return .

One of the nicest places we have stayed! Everything is of the highest spec and the place is immaculate. Everything has been thought of, making it a comfortable and relaxing place to come back to after some stunning walks (accessible from the village) or mountain biking in Dalby forest (highly recommend!). The pub that’s a stones throw from the property is cosy with some lovely pub grub on offer. All in all if I could give it more stars I would…we’ll be back soon!

A beautifully restored cottage tastefully decorated to the highest standard, very well equipped & set in a quiet village with stunning views & lots of walks from the doorstep. Only a few minutes drive to the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway giving further access to more pretty villages & opportunities to explore the National Park & east coast. The local pub is just a walk over the road offering good ale & grub along with a warm welcome! This property met all our needs, it was clean & the Christmas decorations added a cosy, homely feel. Superb break! One to return to.

  • "We did enjoy our week in Levisham which is a delightful village, very quiet, and with ample walks in the area."

This property has been converted to a very high standard with top of the range equipment and fittings. The entrance/utility with boot bench and coat hanging space was very practical. The kitchen was a good size and well equipped (really liked the good supply of “herdy” mugs) but cooking on the two ring induction cooker in the utility room with no usable work surface was a chore. What we really missed was a kitchen cupboard for storing food and a decent shelf in the bathroom for toiletries. This is a really well presented cottage with lots of smart features, but the garden when we located it, was disappointing. If like me you are ready for a cup of tea at the end of your journey make sure to bring fresh milk with you, the welcome pack contains a few sticks of UHT milk and there are no shops close by.

Lovely quiet, rural location situated in a small village. The owner has modernised the property superbly without spoiling its rustic charm. Very spacious, well equipped and wished we could have stayed longer! The nearby pub serves good quality food and a trip on the nearby steam train is a must! Just be warned, the only road in and out of the village is a bit scary at first with its 1:5 incline and hairpin bend!

However I have serious reservations about the Friday to Friday booking. It normally takes me a comfortable five and a half hours (on a Saturday) to get from home (Kent) to the North York Moors. This time on a Friday it took nearly eight hours to get there and the return almost as long. No accidents or breakdowns just pure volume of traffic. Please tell me why this trend of Friday to Friday has come about. I can see no benefit to the customer what so ever. In future bookings (we normally book a cottage twice a year) a Friday to Friday offering will only be booked as a last resort or not at all.

Just wish we had booked to stay for longer! We stayed for a few days just after the Covid road map let us go away again and it didn’t disappoint in anyway. The Coach House has been done up to a high spec but hasn’t lost the ‘homely comforts’ that you want from a home from home. It was a real find in terms of its interior and location for discovering the area. The only downside was that the village pub, which is a minute stroll from the property, wasn’t open whilst we were there. But just another reason to go back!

It was a truly great get away. The Coach House was full of everything you would have at home, plus a great Aga, which we have never used before, our wives came away with thoughts of their own for Christmas. Another plus was how it kept the cottage lovely and warm, great when getting back from a walk. There is even a trough outside for cleaning your boots. The neighbours next door were very helpful in explaining places to visit and supplying local maps. Lastly the village itself is small but lovely, topped of with a pub, the Horeshoe, where we enjoyed a lovely meal, and felt very safe during the present situation.
