    “The train carriage was fabulous.”

Keith was fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The location was brilliant only 2 miles from Whitby. We had a lovely time and would definitely recommend staying there.

The property

A stunning and unique railway carriage now converted into fabulous holiday accommodation, fantastic for families or friends looking to head to the Yorkshire Coast and North York Moors with Whitby right on the doorstep.

Sandy beaches, extensive recreational trails, excellent amenities and beautiful countryside make this is a truly unique cottage experience!

Original features like sliding windows and first class railway seats seamlessly combine with spectacular views across the beautiful rolling countryside of the Yorkshire Moors.

The property offers superbly appointed accommodation including a master en-suite double, separate sitting room and a lovely galley-style kitchen with breakfast bar.

Sited alongside the Old Hawsker Railway Station this accommodation is a great alternative to Whitby cottages and it offers great views; Whitby and the sea are seen just over the fields.

The pretty village of Hawsker is situated half way between Whitby and Robin Hood’s Bay, just two and a half miles from each, making it an ideal base from which to explore the area. Cottages and farms complete this pleasant village, with a local pub serving food, a tea room, a village hall, primary school and children's playground. Set on the National Cycle Network and the Whitby/Scarborough Railtrail (Cinder Trail), Hawsker provides a great base for walkers, cyclists and lovers of the outdoors. The superb coastline in this beautiful part of Yorkshire, and the spectacular North York Moors are well worth exploring, as is the fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay and the ancient port of Whitby. With its winding streets and hidden alleys, Whitby is a charming atmospheric town with a picturesque harbour, long, sandy beaches and the famous Abbey, reached by the 199 steps!
