You can listen to the resident tawny owl on an evening, see buzzards fly above during the day, there is plenty of bird song and grey squirrels around keeping the peacock company. The water garden is a delight and the adjacent hall dates back to the early 1700s. Ideally located close to many of the interesting places to visit in the area such as the moors, the wolds and coast. Reviewed by DaveFeb 2020 "Just arrived home from 2 weeks in the Stables at Ebberston North Yorkshire." The property is an old stone built cottage with 3 bedrooms, large living and dining area. We did get some cold and wet days but the underfloor heating and the log burner was more than adequate. The owner and family was so nice and welcoming. We were invited into their 17 century home to view the old furniture and paintings of their ancestors. All in all we had a fantastic time, the quietness and peace of the immediate area added to the success of the choice for a holiday. Well recommended to any one or family. Jane, the host, was extremely knowledgeable of the home, the area and the best places to eat and to walk. We will definitely be returning. Thanks Jane. Cottage clean, warm and well equipped. Minor irritation was DVD player still noisy and glitchy ( previous review also mentions this). There is no WiFi - which is great if you want to be off grid. Thank you Reviewed by JaneOct 2018 "A lovely house in a great location." We spent a lovely week here and were extremely comfortable. Reviewed by DebbieOct 2018 "The house was lovely and clean and the bedrooms are fantastic." The beds were extremely comfy and once you get used to the main road noise and the serenading owls a good nights sleep is guaranteed. The main upstairs bathroom was also very nice and there are all the facilities you could ever need especially in the kitchen. You are ideally located between the coast and the moors. However there wasn't a welcome pack to explain anything, the owner did say to knock or text to ask anything but feels an inconvenience to do so. The back garden is actually a tiny gravel courtyard, the advertised garden is actually the owners garden next door which you feel you should ask to visit. The DVD player makes a horrible clunking noise which when played even with the TV on full volume can still be heard making viewing impossible. Sadly with no WiFi meant no alternative viewing options.
