  • "House was perfect for us, well equipped Kitchen & utility room."

Lounge a little on the small side but was fine for the two of us. Lovely dining room, Both bedrooms very good size with nice furniture, bed was also very comfortable. Loved large bathroom, beautiful large shower & freestanding bath. The house is in a perfect position for all restaurants & pubs but it's also in a quiet little close. The owners left a welcome pack, which was a lovely gesture. If we visited Malton again would definitely stay at house.

  • "The trees and shrubs by the gate to the house, where you park your car, could do with a trim, they have grown somewhat from when the photo of the cottage was taken."

  • "Accommodation was lovely."

It was really kind to leave us a welcome note, wine, bread, milk, butter and a tea towel. Even pretty flowers left in a vase. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Malton is such a lovely town and I would certainly recommend 1 School Lane as the perfect accommodation for visiting the Malton area.

The cottage was very clean and well maintained and well equipped. Location was great as it was very near the town centre but also quiet and tucked away. Thank you also to the owner for the lovely tea towel and the essential supplies provided when we arrived. Thank you!

The cottage fittings were of a very high standard and it was great to have Netflix and Apple TV. Having milk , bread etc provided along with well stocked kitchen utensils and essentials was a real bonus.

  • "Wow what a gem of a cottage which exceeded all our expectations."

The cottage is well equipped with what you’d expect to find in your own home, very clean, drying room as you walk in with under floor heating with a downstairs toilet/cloak. It is well situated in the centre of Malton with plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and walks. A home from home. On booking I was worried about parking as we had two cars but on contacting the owner was told we could park one car on the patio and the other in front of the gates. The garden is equipped with patio furniture and gas BBQ. A wonderful cottage with fab owners, we will definitely book again!! Places to eat: New Malton Inn (2* Michelin restaurant), the Mount/Will’s bar (Sunday lunch is a must in the Mount restaurant and Will’s bar is on the same site good food and sports bar) and the Blue Ball Inn (Good old fashioned pub with hearty home cooked food). All abiding social distancing and enforcing the wearing of masks etc. Places to visit/Walk: Eden Camp, Mallyn Mount/Beck Hole walk (rough terrain but worth seeing the waterfalls), Dalby Forrest amazing walks here (even got to see 2 deers), good walk in Malton which follows the river Derwent). Train station is in Malton and you can jump in the train to Scarborough for £11 each open return and to York £11 too.

  • "A super conveniently located cottage."

All the shops and restaurants of Malton are within easy walking distance of the house. The cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard and is very comfortable. The owners had left basic food staples that we could use if we wished and all the cleaning materials for a house were available. I shall be buying a set of the cutlery provided for my own use! We were blessed with unusually good weather for September and were able to sit in the garden with a cup of tea on our return from a hard day’s walking. The cottage provides all the ingredients for a most enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

  • "1, School Lane was exceptionally well-equipped, especially the kitchen."

A lovely welcome basket was provided, including bread and milk. Everything was a of a very high quality. The bedrooms were of a generous size with comfortable beds and quality bedding. The bathroom was spacious with a roll top bath, a large shower and soap and shower gel provided. There was a cosy lounge and a separate dining room. The porch had plenty of space to leave shoes etc and benefited from under floor heating. We would be happy to recommend this property and hope we get chance to stay there again. We were pleased to find that we could park on Ryder Square outside the property. We did not expect to be able to park just outside, from the listing information. The property is within easy walking distance of the centre of Malton.

  • "A brilliant house in a fantastic location."

Loads to do in the immediate and surrounding area. The house was very well equipped with all kitchen utentsils, and some really nice touches such plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing powder, cooking spices, etc. The linen and towels were of very high quality and a really comfy super king bed. Room for parking of 1 car outside the property and a short walk into Malton centre and train station. I would recommend the taproom at Brass Castle Brewery (Malton) and The House of the Trembling Madness in York (great beer and food)! Loads of places to eat and drink in the Malton – the food capital of Yorkshire . We have been coming to this area for many years and would definitely consider booking this house again.
