Property is well equipped with all that you need. Log burner was very welcome at the end of a cold day sightseeing. Dog friendly, with dog bed, blanket and towel also dog bowl and dog treets, which was a lovely touch. Beds very comfortable with lovely crisp white sheets. Shower was perfectly adequate with great pressure. Year yard which is secure ideal for parking off street. This we feel reflected the caring nature of the owner, who was obviously concerned that we should have an enjoyable stay and even contacted us on arrival to make sure everything was OK. It would be wonderful for a spring and summer holiday. It has a very nice garden. We were staying in the cottage the week before Christmas, there is central heating and a log burner but perhaps we chose a particularly cold week it seemed rather chill. Just one or two points to mention. It is in the middle of a busy small town, this has pluses and minuses. Being where it is it is good for eating out and exploring. Traffic noise is possible on busy days. Malton is a lovely town everywhere we went shop staff and restaurant owners could not have been nicer. The owners of the cottage are a very nice couple who took the trouble to contact us before we left home, to pass on information. Over all we would recommend the Pipe House.

We thank them for having some toys and games available, it kept our four year old entertained and out of mischief. Yes there was traffic but it really didn’t bother us compared to other reviewers. In fact, we very much liked being central in a busy town and for those occasions you didn’t want to drive there was a train station close by. The Sainsbury’s Local is very close and great for those extras needed after the main shops have closed, which seemed a little earlier than we are used to. Lots of wonderful food and antiques shops in the town. The garden at the house is lovely - a real sun trap and the summer house is an ideal place in which to chill after a day out and about. Plenty of garden furniture and cushions! The accommodation was fine. The main bedroom is very spacious; the twin-bedded room a little on the small side when two adults are in residence but not a problem. Sitting room and kitchen/dining room were ideal. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to all our questions/comments both before and during our visit. There was a slight issue with the door of the twin-bedded room which did not latch properly and tended to swing open if not wedged from behind but the owner is aware of this and hoped to get it repaired.

Parking is Brilliant and the garden secure and surprisingly peaceful. Sadly the single glazed windows don’t cut out the sound of the surprising amount of large traffic that goes past in the early mornings - where do they all go?? But that said it didnt disturb us too much we were just surprised by the volume of traffic. The kitchen was well stocked so it was easy to cook a meal there if you didnt want to go out and try the superb eateries around Malton. We did miss having a dishwasher but we had plenty of time to do the little bit of washing up we made. We all loved the garden and little summerhouse, the twinkly solar lights added a nice touch, Ive ordered some for my garden. As has been mentioned before the double bed isn’t the comfiest if you’re used to a nice firm mattress, but overall that was the only negative in our weeks stay.
