"A beautifully presented holiday home which was just like the pictures online."
We were there during the exceptionally high temperatures and the owner popped around with a fan and to check everything was okay.
The garden was secure for our dog which was a relief as we could relax knowing she had freedom to wander in and around the trees and shrubs.
We'd definitely return and recommend.

"The property was beautiful and even more impressive than the pictures."
It was incredibly cosy and warm, and the garden room was such a treat.
Huge efforts have been made to secure the garden for dogs, so we had no worried in letting ours out. He loved it!
Make sure you enjoy the walks around the property, we managed to get some sun and even saw wild deer!
Our trip was lovely and just what we needed to relax.

"This is the second time we have stayed at Ash Tree Lodge and it was just as perfect as the first time."
Lovely cottage in a fabulous location and setting, only 15 minutes drive from Withernsea. Local walks from the cottage and a secure well maintained garden. A great relaxing break with a hot tub and very comfy, enormous bed. The cottage is spotlessly clean and cosy with a log burner, I would definitely recommend this property for a lovely relaxing break and we will be visiting again in the future.

"The property itself is extremely inviting."
Everything has been thought out well. From the entrance porch with heater to the Belfast sink in the garden to wash those dirty paws or muddy boots. What I found most appealing was that the location is quiet with lots of walks. You can lose yourself in your thoughts or a dam good book which by the way there is a good selection of. Then if you want to blow the cobwebs away there are several beaches within easy reach and after a long day doing nothing you can relax and soak your bones in the Jacuzzi. Final a huge recommendation to Melbourne Butchers and Bakery, Main Street, Roos HU12 0HB. This shop has the wow factor with meats sandwich's and delicious cakes. So for that romantic meal head there for your ingredients.

Good walk into the village, hearty meals at the pub, an Alladin's cave of a supermarket at the village garage.
Our stay was in mid December. The lodge was always cosy and the hot-tub was appreciated.
Our first Sykes stay too, as my father was fond of saying " quality is long remembered ". Thank you Chris, we hope to come again.

This little cottage is the perfect getaway from the stresses of everyday living. From the hot glow of the wood burning stove, the huge comfortable bed, the calm and peace in the conservatory or the warm bubbles in the jacuzzi. Everything was just .....spot on, perfect, amazing, just so....right!
As I said in a letter to our host Chris, my husband and I couldn't decide if we should become squatters or go back home to our grandchildren....the grandchildren won! JUST!

"Facilities at the property were brilliant… the hot tub especially!"
The local pub( The Nancy) was only open from Wednesday & the listed pub recommended,“The Commercial” was very poor! Withensea was a tired looking town with very few restaurants. Hornsea was a much better alternative. Beverley was a lovely market town. We would recommend “The Roo arms” just 3 miles from the property with excellent choice of food from Wednesday to Sunday. The Stag Inn at Lelley was also a lovely pub to visit. This information should have been available more readily. The area was a little too quiet for us on the whole.
Hi Jacqueline,
Appreciate your comments. I have updated the guide book to include the Roos Arms and the Stag Inn at Lelly. Also, the only place to eat in Withernsea is breakfast at the Sunshine Caf,
Thanks & kind regards, Property Owner

"A really lovely property, comfortable & welcoming."
Kitted out well, with some added extra goodies left for us! Hot tub was a real bonus in the secluded & tranquil garden. Would highly recommend & felt everything was Covid safe & very clean. Had some lovely days out in surrounding area. Also very dog friendly, but unfortunately the Nancy pub which is just a short walk away is not, so we couldn't use it! All in all though a very enjoyable stay.

"Ash Tree Lodge is a perfect gem hidden in the beautiful East Riding countryside."
The cottage was extremely well appointed, spotlessly clean with a large comfy bed and plenty of room for two and a dog… the owners, Chris and Frances were on hand if we needed them but left us to enjoy our week with a welcome pack and all the information we needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding area was perfect for us and our dog, with plenty of great walks. The garden was secure and they have thought of everything for your furry companion to enjoy the holiday with you. The hot tub was amazing and felt very private for relaxing. The weather was kind to us and we were able to use the sun recliners out on the patio. If you are looking for a romantic getaway with comfort and privacy in an idyllic setting then this is your place… we will definitely be back. Thank you both

"The Cottage exceeded our expectations."
It was wonderfully clean throughout and felt both cosy and spacious at the same time... just right for the 2 of us and Eddie the dog. It has everything you need for a restful stay, including the warming log burner for cooler evenings and lovely the hot tub for relaxing in after a long walk on one of the nearby beaches. The garden is lovely for enjoying a glass of afternoon fizz and is fully enclosed making it very dog friendly. The owners aren’t intrusive but are on hand next door if you need anything. They have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and welcoming. The bed is large and very comfy, but as a personal preference I would have liked some black out blinds in the bedroom. There is noise from the machinery at the working farm next door but we got used to that and it didn’t spoil our stay or keep us awake at night. Would love to return here again in the future.

"Cottage was superb, owners very friendly and helpful."
All amenities brilliant and spotlessly clean. Lovely location but the down side was the noise from the working machinery next door at the farm all day and most of the night. Was quite bad at this time of the year but would imagine other times it’s probably not as bad.
Did get used to it a little but certainly wasn’t as tranquil as we had hoped for which was a shame as the hot tub and gardens would have been really relaxing if not for the droning and clanking of the machinery. Maybe we just caught a very busy farming/production week.

Owner next door on hand if you had any issues. Hot Tub fab, very quite village with great food at The Nancy Pub. Although next to a working farm (not animals) this did not interfer with our stay. very friendly garden and escape proof. A really chilled holiday and relaxing. Upon enterimg thought it was going to be very small, but was pleasantly surpried how roomy it was. felt safe in this covid hell we are in. There is a village shop - But beware VERY Expensive also runs out of stuff.
Will return again. A really pleasant stay. Dollie the dog loved it too.

..as soon as you walk in here there is a warm cozy feeling.. beautifully presented..also immaculate .. added little extras not expecting on arrival.. I have never been anywhere were they have thought of everything there was nothing you could need which they did not have to hand.so cozy and relaxing .the bed is so so comfortable.ive been to a lot of places and this takes a lot to beat...if I had to be very very extremely picky the only thing I'd say is if you want to snuggle on couch watch tv with partner it's not really big enough or Maybe that's just us!! Very nice recliner chair though if other has couch!! Loved it so much we book again I've recommend this to lot of people ..I did not go out to local pub so can't say but on passing looked lovely we just didn't feel the need as we relaxed books and watching tv .the conservatory is beautiful for relaxing with a book xx
