  • "Clean and comfortable cottage in a quiet terrace."

We had all the facilities we needed. Just a short walk to the lovely beach, great local shops. Short walk to train station or bus stop so it was a great location for us Thank You

  • "We had a lovely stay in Marske."

The property was clean and well situated for the town and beach. Although it was very clean, there was an overwhelming smell of 'weed' in the property, I suspect from previous guests? The property itself could use some TLC - bath panel loose, door handle loose on one of the kitchen doors etc - but that being said, it was very good value for money. We'll definitely be staying again.

  • "Really lovely cottage with all facilities needed for a short stay (including a hairdryer which wasn’t mentioned in the listing)."

Perfect layout and very quiet and peaceful. We had a lovely stay and made the most of the fabulous weather exploring the area. Whitby is a moat as is Staithes, lots of hills but worth it for the views!

  • "Spotless, cosy, well-equipped little house."

Good kitchen facilities, good wifi, smart tv, comfortable bed, good shower, perfect heating and I absolutely loved the Christmas tree! Very thoughtful at this time of year! Great location in a beautiful little village and, to cap it all, an awesome beach, with great coastal walks in either direction, just a 5 minute walk away! Loved my stay.

Thank you for you lovely feed back. Have a lovely Christmas. Property Owner

  • "We only stayed one night out of three, the lighting outside the property is terrible, we arrived when it was dark and struggled to use the key box to obtain the door key, the door key is a struggle to open the door."

There was a very bad damp smell on arrival into the property, bedding was dirty and stained, there was full damp absorbing tubs, there was a lot of dust on the window sill in the bathroom and the surfaces were grubby. Outside the property there are a lot of weeds which could be a tripping hazard. There could be a light placed above the door. Positive points - the owner is very approachable, was very good at sorting problems we pointed out the day after we arrived. the bed itself was comfy, there was mattress protectors and pillow protectors, downstairs sofas are very comfortable, the kitchen is good quality and well laid out, there’s teas and coffee sachets. The heating system is very effective. The place could benefit from curtains in the bedroom to block out the light outside shining into the room, and a few more homely touches upstairs.

  • "Ideal cottage for exploring the area."

Good location in a lovely village. Living room door handle loose worried it would come off and a little bit of damp behind front door. Would highly recommend the property great value

  • "The reviews give a good indication of what to expect (several neighbouring properties are also holiday lets which explains why the street is so quiet) Marske is a lovely place to stop and that's why this was our second visit to this property."

Kitchen improved on last year (still no measuring jug) and we had a comfortable week here and would return in future. The house is clean and well maintained (although the finish lets it down in the odd area) Agree with the comment about the weeds outside - had to tell my dog she couldn't have a wee on them (she thought it was a patch of grass!)

  • "The property itself was clean and tidy , but general maintenance of weeding to entrance of the property was needing attention."

I found a few utensils lacking in the kitchen No potato masher ,no measuring jug . Cupboard under stairs has smell of dampness and finally the bathroom could do with extractor fan and even though there is a shower screen water still escapes onto the floor. Please note we did enjoy our stay as we love the area , this is not character assignation on the property just an observation

  • "A quirky, nicely hidden away flat, yet still in a great location for all useful amenities."

INCLUDING: a lovely spacious olfd fashioned pub right next door. Some biscuits, milk, coffee/sugar sachets provided. A comfy bed. A Smart TV. A good shower. Some Negatives: First impression: Dirty stained doormat and unkempt, attended to area inside the doorway, and outside. Some dirty stained cups and mugs in the kitchen cupboard. A toilet seat unable to go into an upright postion. And unsturdy when sat on. Pillows on bed a bit squishy. Info given on general and recycling bins outside the flat but only general dustbin provided inside the flat.

  • "The cottage was comfortable, warm and very clean."

We did run out of gas for hot water and heating, but it was replaced later in the day (we did feel it should have been checked before we went in). Having said that it was a lovely place to stay. Although it is very close to a busy road, it was quiet and peaceful and the bed was very comfy!! We would definitely stay there again.

  • "We enjoyed our stop in this property."

It was conveniently situated opposite the co-op and parking was only a short distance away (in a busy/safe carpark) There are numerous routes to the beach, none are far away! The property was clean, warm and comfortable and we would stop again. The only minor niggles were a lack of some equipment for the kitchen (e.g. bread knife, measuring jug) We would recommend this property - Marske is lovely and a good base to walk to Redcar and Saltburn!

The beach is ideal for boogie boarding or for families to pursue activities all or part of the day. Marske is a beautiful little gem to enjoy quiet breaks away from the busy hustle and bustle of life.

  • "Small but very comfortable cottage."

Beautifully situated for the town ( Co-op right opposite). Fabulous beach walks in either direction only ten minutes away, fantastic breakfast at Craigs by the Sea ( a visit is a must). Parking was an issue but was resolved and an outside garden for the dog would have been great , but that is a small downside. Overall we would definitely stay again.
