• "A perfect cottage in a stunning location."

  Marske has access to an amazing coastline with none of the tourist trappings to spoil it. It is a proper community with great places to eat. The cottage itself had everything you could need in good working order and kept spotless. Out dogs loved their stay as did their human companions. Highly recommended.

• "This is a fabulous cottage it's so clean and welcoming."

  Lovely welcome pack with treats for our doggos. Everything you needed was provided and the shops were only a couple of minutes away. The beach is a very short walk away and the dogs a d ourselves were really happy about that and spent lots of time there. Rachael was wonderful (I left my shoe's but she got in touch and arranged to send them back. Thanks for that they did arrive) Plan on going back as it's been one of the most enjoyable holidays we've had in the uk

  The cottage was lovely, tucked away but location perfect for regular trips to the beautify Marske beach and walks to Redcar and Saltburn and quick walk to shops. Cottage was clean, well equipped and decorated beautifully, wifi included too and a smart TV. Its obviously well cared for, a home from home. Could have benefited from a few coat hooks in the hall on the left as you enter the property but just a very minor point!

  Take a walk to the beautiful beach five minute walk and on the way back a lovely pub to have a drink. The cottage itself is welcoming as soon as you step through the lovely front door, everything catered for and was spotlessly clean. The decor is beautifully presented on a nautical theme throughout and the beds were so comfy

• "Lovely terraced house within minutes walk of a clean sandy beach."

  We enjoyed easy walks on the beach to Saltburn and Redcar from the front door. We never realised until reading the guest book that the Hideaway was a very popular let with dog owners , the house was immaculate! . Marske has 2 supermarkets, butchers & greengrocers plus chemists, coffee shops & so on so all on the doorstep . Rachel was very helpful and kept in touch with us throughout the stay , very thoughtful to let us know about dolphin sighting on the beach. We would definitely recommend the Hideaway to our friends!

• "We were so happy with our accommodation."

  The beds were wonderful and the bedding was top quality. The location cannot be faulted!! The host kept in touch but was not intrusive. The welcome basket was great, milk in the fridge and ample toilet roll. Couldn't be happier. Thank you!!

• "Great property for dog owners with an excellent beach within 5 min walking distance."

  Handy local shops, we made use of the local chippy and pizza takeaway. The welcome pack left from the owners was a nice touch, including popcorn for the kids and even biscuits for the dog! We enjoyed visiting Saltburn beach (approx 2 miles away) which is a charming, traditional seaside resort, great for bodyboarding. As well as days out in Whitby and Pickering. The only minor negative was the parking. We had to park our car in a neighbouring street, as the road the cottage is situated on is narrow, and our car wouldn't fit.

• "Beautiful little cottage in a pleasant village."

  Ideal for dog owners as the nearby beach is ideal. Handy location for sightseeing or just chill. We took our disabled granddaughter and there was plenty of space to accommodate her needs at this point in her life. Would highly recommend to all who love quality and cleanliness and clearly this property is up there. Rachael was friendly and nothing too much trouble.

  Long leisurely walks along the sandy beach before a short stroll back to your cosy comfortable ‘home from home’ with a tired but very happy dog in tow - what’s not to love? Rachael, the owner, has created such a wonderful relaxing haven and is always on hand to offer help when needed or just to give advice on the best places to visit. We have just come back after our fourth visit and, quite simply, we love it more each time we go. Thanks Rachael once again for the perfect holiday.

  This is our third visit to The Hideaway and we are already planning our fourth. We love both the cottage and the location with its close proximity to the stunning dog-friendly beach. Rachael, the owner, is such a welcoming host, always on hand if there are any issues or if you just need some advice on places to visit and the generous welcome pack she provides is second to none. We cannot fault this home-from-home and highly recommend it for the perfect relaxing holiday.

• "The cottage was a delight."

  Well appointed, it had everything we needed and more. The owner went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The area was wonderful. Marske made a fabulous base to explore the moors and Yorkshire coastline. The beach was beautiful and right on our doorstep. The dog was in heaven. Lots of shops but nothing touristy. Saltburn 5 mins up the road had all of that, which was perfect. We relaxed instantly and will definitely be back.

  I loved the seaside theme that ran through the house & the back yard was a lovely place to sit & relax. When we arrived there were fresh flowers, wine, chocolates & even a few doggy treats, a very nice touch. It was a five minute walk to the beach which was lovely and clean, an ideal place to walk the dogs. It was just a few minutes walk to the village which had supermarkets, chemist, bakers, butchers, take always etc. All in all a fantastic place to stay, plenty to do within walking distance & very dog friendly. I would love to return in the future.

• "Had a great stay at The Hideaway."

  The cottage was very clean, comfortable and cosy. It was nicely decorated with a beach theme. Good quality bedding and towels were provided. It was well equipped with quality goods. Only thing lacking was some whisky glasses for us Scots A hairdryer was provided in the main bedroom. The location was ideal for walks along the beach to either Saltburn or Redcar. We had no trouble parking opposite the cottage.Pub just around the corner serves food and is dog friendly. Rachael even offered us a late checkout which we declined but was a nice touch. She also provided some nice bread, jam, wine and chocolates as well as doggy biscuits. We plan to return. Rosella & Mike Jolly & Alfie our Cavalier.

  This cottage is home from home and everything is at hand ,very well set out and some nice quirky furniture. We met one of the owners Rachael and her parents all very friendly and helpful, we will be back next year as it is a lovely area with just a short walk to the beach. Can't recommend this cottage enough although Rachael wouldn't let me buy it.A great holiday we had and our two dogs loved the beach.

  .... Even though The Hide Away looked lovely on the photos , it was even better in real life....a really spacious terrace. The back garden was safe for my young grandchildren and a beautiful place to sit and enjoy breakfast. Definitely, would highly recommend this cottage and the hosts were absolutely brilliant

• "The cottage is delightful, tooked up a nice little street."

  The cottage is very welcoming, warm & cosy. The kitchen is very well kitted out and everywhere was so clean. It positioned perfectly, 10 mins walk to the beach where you can stroll for miles on unspoilt sand, my daughter loved it. Their also a local pub the other way, although we didn't eat their the food did look lovely. We will most definitely be returning, hopefully when the weather is a little warm then we can enjoy prosecco in the courtyard garden. The owners also kept in contact and were their at the end of the phone should we of needed anything, the nice little text the day before we where going to say we could stay on a little longer and not to rush leaving was so nice as we didn't want to! Not always possibly though! We stay in lots of cottages all over the UK and this is one of the nicest!

  Great beach walks to Redcar and Saltburn. Excellent bus services for Middlesbrough, Redcar, Saltburn, Staithes, Whitby, Guisborough, etc. On National Cycle Route 1. A pretty, refurbished cottage with helpful local owners. It is in a narrow street with limited parking, but we didn't find this any problem.
