  • "This cottage was in the heart of Ripon with easy access to city centre."

    It was spotlessly clean. The house had everything we could’ve imagined needing from bottle opener to washing up liquid and toilet paper. Really great stay in a very friendly city.

    One bathroom was not great for 4 people, snug was small and full of furniture. Night light for upper stairs would be good addition

  • "A really lovely, comfortable cottage in a great location."

    The kitchen was well equipped and living room small but really cosy. The bedrooms are lovely and we enjoyed sitting outside in the sunny courtyard garden. The cottage is a short walk into Ripon and there is a really nice riverside walk too. Would thoroughly recommend.

    We assumed we would have to go into the public car park some distance away. For a house sleeping 5 another loo would be good!

  • "Stayed here before and enjoyed it, property is nice and location is excellent, but found the check in and checkout times too restrictive, specifically given that the property was only finished being cleaned around 40 mins before checking in and yet we had to leave at 9 am on day of departure."

    Also the courtyard could do with a jet was as the floor is mossy and slippy in places and the front door needs a curtain over the window, or a frosting film to add some privacy.

  • "The house is in a beautiful part of Ripon facing the pretty cathedral."

    Everything was close at hand, the shops, pubs and bars, the canal and the river. No need for the car. The house itself is full of character which my family loves. Spacious bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen all clean and well appointed. The living room is a little small but we moved the coffee table to create more space which helped immensely. The stairs to upstairs and the living room can be locked off so any dog could have the large kitchen/diner and hallway for bedtime. No need for them to be upstairs which was fabulous as that is the routine my dog is used to. Outside yard is small but pretty and enclosed. Overall we loved this property and would highly recommend it. I do think the owner needs to be told that the bedroom window is cracked and needs replacing though. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house.

    Parking is not ideal .... makes loading and unloading tricky. Several minor issues on arrival that were quickly sorted by the owner. Bedrooms and living space all very comfortable.

  • "Loved our stay at this amazing cottage."

    It truly was a home from home. Shame its on street parking as we couldn’t always park near the property. However, the cottage is wonderful, warm, cosy, welcoming, clean and close enough to the town for an easy walk yet still a quiet location. The view of Ripon Cathedral is stunning Staying at the cottage made our Christmas at home in Yorkshire simply perfect. Thank you

  • "30 High St Agnesgate is a really very nice place to stay, with nice comfortable accommodation in a great location."

    Ripon is well placed to explore the Dales and Moors, but being in a market town means you have the benefit of being able to walk to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants - which you don't get in a village. There is a really nice walk/run route along the river and through footpaths to Studley and Fountains, so you don't always have to be in your car. Would recommend it, without hesitation.

Dominated by its imposing cathedral, the historic city of Ripon has a great deal to offer visitors - the Cathedral with its 1300 year old crypt, the Yorkshire Law & Order Museums, various craft markets, an International Music Festival and Ripon Races; not to mention the many beautiful riverside and canal walks. Even the famous Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden are within walking distance along the banks of the River Skell and it is just a few miles to the popular Lightwater Valley Theme Park. The historic houses of Norton Conyers and Newby Hall & Gardens are also close by. If you do feel the need to get in the car and explore, Ripon is ideal for touring both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors, not to mention Harrogate, Knaresborough and York too!
