  • "This well positioned and comfortable property served as our home “off and on” for six months whilst we waited for our new-build house to be completed."

Five mins from sainsburys, or mccolls if you didn’t want to walk up a hill, we were never short for places to visit, or walk, and we enjoyed everything Ripon had to offer. The house has everything you would need for a holiday visit. We were able to cook Sunday lunches and we sat four people down for meals (although we think 5 would be a stretch). The two reclining leather sofas in the lounge are a treat. We had one each! We didn’t get into the rear courtyard to sit until March, but it’s a great space to relax and watch the river pass by. If we were looking for a rental again, we would definitely choose this property.

  • "Very nice house."

Very well situated too. Just a few minutes walk to the centre of Ripon, and a short drive to Fountains Abbey, which is well worth a visit.

  • "Lovely holiday accommodation, even treats for the dog."

BBQ which we used as the weather was favourable. Ample room for four adults one three year old and one year old. Recliner sofas were a bonus and very comfy. Highchair, travel cot provided and stair gate at top of stairs, also stops dogs getting into bedrooms if they manage to get through the living room door!!!!.Only suggestion for future, a list of bin collection dates and what items go in each recycling container, we looked on line but not everyone uses the internet. Thanks for a great week away with the family.

  • "Loved the place and house."

Only let down was internet didn’t work and kept asking for secure logins whenever we tried loading. Would def return but for longer period next time.

  • "The couches are both recliners and it would have been nice to have a small table next to them, but other than that everything was excellent."

We spent a lot of time in the garden as we had the weather and it was so relaxing. Few minutes walk from the town but couldn't believe how quiet it was. We loved it, proper home from home will definitely return.

  • "This is a lovely property and was immaculate throughout when we arrived."

The welcome pack was really appreciated. Shops/Bars/Restaraunts are within 5 minutes walk (The Water Rat is nearby, serves good beer and food and is dog friendly) We arrived during a rare heatwave and if we had been staying longer would have bought fans as it got quite hot at night. The only minus I have is the access to the River - it's down a drop / steep slope and there is no fencing (as stated in the summary). We moved some plant pots to keep our dogs away but smaller dogs or children would need to be watched carefully.

  • "The house was comfortable and well equipped."

Very handy for the town centre and represented good value for the money. We would book again.

  • "Lovely clean house."

Great location, easy walk into Ripon. The back garden was a peaceful haven after a busy day out. Also convenient for Harrogate and some National Trust properties. Instructions for appliances would be helpful and maybe a teapot? Would highly recommend

  • "We had such a great time staying at this gorgeous house in Ripon."

It's so centrally located so didn't need the car to visit Ripon. The owners Nigel and Jane, even left bit and bobs for our little dog. This was a really nice touch. They also provided bread, tea bags, milk and ice! The only thing I would say is...there was no mirrors at all in either the 2nd or 3rd bedroom so I had to keep lending my Mum ours out of the master bedroom. Also no chopping board was provided so we had to use a plate instead. Finally, maybe a laminate with some instructions on would help? We weren't sure about the central heating but managed to work the dishwasher out ok. Overall though...would definitely recommend. Was a lovely break :)

  • "The cottage was excellent."

One of the best I’ve been in. Very clean and well appointed. Lovely sitting out area next to the river. Perfectly located for a short walk into the centre of Ripon. The reclining sofas were particularly appreciated - never experienced them before so may have found a new need! The only things lacking were side tables in the sitting room. We brought the kitchen chairs in to use but a small nest of tables would have worked better. We will certainly book it again next year.

  • "Lovely clean home in a central, yet very quiet location."

The back garden was especially beautiful and sunny, looking over the river; you even got a peak of the Cathedral from the front bedroom. Ripon's shops, cafes and pubs had obviously been very affected by the pandemic, and many were still sadly closed. It's still a beautiful, clean and friendly City, and will hopefully bounce back very soon.

4 minutes walk to the cathedral, bars and eating establishments. Ripon made a great base for touring the area. We would be very happy to stay here again.
