  • "Pipistrelle was extremely spacious, clean and warm."

The kitchen was well equipped and the bed linen and towels good quality. A tiny suggestion (not a criticism) would be to have a couple of arm chairs by the large window where you could soak up the morning sun while having coffee etc or reading, it's a real sun trap. A return visit is on the cards! PS Thank you for the milk and biscuits.

We also enjoyed the pond, complete with small island to keep nesting waterfowl safe from foxes. Beautiful bird song too

Very clean and everything you need. Plenty of room and comfortable. Hornsea very near and our dog loved to go there for a paddle. I would recommend the property .

  • "Lovely cottage, everything we needed was provided."

Holidays in February can be challenging with the weather and the entrance area was perfect for coats and boots in the wet weather and to towel off a damp dog. Very specious comfy living area and a roomy comfortable double bedroom. Great to have onsite parking and the field with the pond to walk the dog round. Biscuits and milk were a lovely touch so we could get the kettle straight on. If we visited the area again we would definitely return to Pipistelle Cottage.

  • "What a lovely cottage."

So light, clean, and spacious too. The owner was really nice and helpfull. Easy to get to Tesco a few miles away for the shopping, (self catering) near /in Hornsea and to the sea. Town of Bridlington also a few miles away, (about 6 or so,) beautiful countryside. Beverly town also near. We have relatives in Beverley so it was a great base too. All in a lovely place to stay.

  • "One of our favourite places to stay."

The location is great and there are places of interest within a short drive. The house is cosy and has a great dog walking area. We especially like the entrance area where you can take off muddy shoes and hang up coats etc before entering the property. The downstairs shower is also powerful and refreshing. Hopefully will be back again soon

  • "I came to the property with my mum and dog for a relaxing break and that’s just what we got."

The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the local area and visits to the coast a short drive away. The Cottage was well maintained, clean and comfortable. There was plenty cookwear, plates, pans etc to cook up a feast although they could benefit from a new frying pan as it had a wobbly handle. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add a side gate to the property between robins nest and the car parking spaces. This would allow you to let your dog off the lead while enjoying the outdoor courtyard, as with my inquisitive pointer I could only sit and enjoy the space with her on the lead otherwise she would be off sniffing for rabbits.

The facilities lacked nothing that we could want and the cottage was well equipped with utensils, kitchen equipment etc.. The owners are very friendly and helpful, but not at all intrusive . We would highly recommend this location and cottage.

Amazing place, not far to many places. Had some spider webs we had to clean up, but maybe that was to keep us in a cottage mood? Still strongly recommended.

  • "A lovely little cottage with good facilities and very comfortable."

The only downside is that there is a busy road outside which ordanarily would be resolved by keeping road facing windows closed, however, the recent very hot weather required them to remain open as much as possible for the heat not to buid up.

The property was as described and situated in an area to allow us to visit many locations in and around the cottage. We visited many of the local eateries and found the service, staff, selection and quality of food and price to meet all pockets. The owners being on site enabled us to chat about visitor hotspots and where best to avoid at certain times of the day. Covid controls still existed and they made us feel safer. We would recommend Skyes and the property we chose with out hesitation.

Alan and Barbara live next door and are always on hand to answer queries and give advice on best beaches etc. The cottage was scrupulously clean and comfortable, tastefully decorated and well equipped. My friend and I took our two dogs and there is a lovely, accessable field with a pretty pond at the back of the house for early morning/evening walks. • "The cottage is lovely and in a fantastic location for great walks, quiet beaches and a rainy day trip to York was within an hour."

The hosts are incredibly welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. My only criticism, which was unique to us and you cant tell from the pictures is that the house is next to a 60mph B road, with the main bedroom window opening onto the road, which seemed to have quite a bit of traffic from 7.30am. So if you are an early riser then this won't be a problem, but if you are hoping for a bit of a lie in on your holiday (as we were) then we found that element a bit frustrating. Other than that, the cottage is lovely and in a fantastic location with a nice meadow and pond behind the house, with plenty of space for the kids to roam. There's even a resident Barn Owl which was a real highlight!
