  • "Cosy cottage near racecourse with two good sized doubles."

20 minutes walk to good local restaurants, shops and pubs on Bishopthorpe Road, 35 minutes into centre. River in flood so couldn’t take riverside path. Would definitely stay again.

So grateful for welcome pack. A lovely 2 mile walk into York by the river. Bus stop near as well. Would certainly recommend . Thank you for a fab stay.

  • "Lovely cottage."

There’s a nice walk along the river into York. Owners very friendly. The cottage just needs to have more crockery. Felt restricted with just 4 of everything.

  • "We had a lovely week's stay at the cottage."

We'd been to York many times but hadn't stayed at this side, which is near the racecourse and the site of the previous,Terry's chocolate factory. The cottage was very comfortable and well-maintained. The owner provided a lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies too. There is a small decked area outside the cottage, ideal for sitting out in the evening as we did. There is a lovely Riverside walk into the centre of York which was about 2 miles which we really enjoyed, if you want to leave the car for the day. We will definitely book again.

  • "Well presented cottage."

Walking distance into York and easy access further afield via nearby ring road. Being close to city almost a countryside location and amazing how quiet it is. Observations and NOT criticism : An information folder would be useful for facilities and local recommendations etc. Would prefer a dishwasher rather than the washing machine in kitchen. A secondary light over bathroom mirror for shaving. Lastly resolve the availability of Wi Fi. Many thanks to Matt and Faye.

  • "This is a great property."

It’s really comfortable, has everything you need and is spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable and, most unusually, the duvets weren’t too thick and so we weren’t too hot at night. All the appliances in the kitchen were easy to use, as was the television. All bedding and towels was of a good quality. Easy parking outside the front door. We really liked the location. It was very quiet and we enjoyed the 40 minute walk into the centre of York. Bishy Road, as the locals call the shopping area on Bishopthorpe Road, has a range of interesting shops, cafes and pubs. There’s also a regular bus service into York and a pleasant riverside walk. In summary we found the property and its location exceeded our expectations and we will be back!

It was ideal and well located. Very clean, tidy and well equipped. Walking along the river to the centre took around 35 minutes. Not having wifi was not a problem and the phone signal was good (EE)

  • "Lovely cottage in a very convenient location for exploring the beautiful city of York."

Just be careful exiting the site on to the busy road at rush hour time, but this quietens down during the day/ evening. Will definitely return again,so this should tell you how good it is.

  • "The cottage at Manor Farm was a warm and comfortable place to stay for an autumn break."

It has an excellent location on the outskirts of York. We did not use the car much - it was easier to take the bus into York or to walk along the riverside path into the city centre. There is no wi-fi in the cottage, but that was not a problem since the phone signal was good and we used the 4G on our phones. I would definitely recommend the cottage as a good place to stay.

Our stay at The Cottage Manor Farm nr York was excellent. A lovely place very clean and everything we needed provided. The only slight drawback was no Wi Fi but we managed without. It was handy to be near the Park & Ride into York and a Tesco. We didn't use the local Co-op because we couldn't see where one could park! The owner, Faye, was a lovely lady who explained all to us as soon as we arrived. I have no hesitation in recommending this cottage to anyone & we will be back at some point once Covd-19 allows or goes away!!

A lovely warm welcome from the owners on arrival. The cottage was exceptionally clean and comfortable with everything required for a perfect stay. We will definitely return and also recommend The cottage. We visited Pickering, Whitby ( Fish & chips amazing) and Harrogate, all beautiful places, the weather wasn’t that good but it didn’t stop us having a wonderful time. Many thanks.

Bus stop very close and a taxi didn't cost much more. The cottage was lovely and clean, arrival pack, tea coffee, milk and biscuits very thoughtful (Thankyou). The Winning Post pub is just under a mile and can reccomend the Sunday roast but better to book!! Overall enjoyed the holiday and the walk to York was lovely along the river. Next time we visit York we will consider the cottage again.

  • "Fabulous small bungalow cottage, owned and run by a fabulous family."

It is perfectly located very close to York city for our mini holiday. Just 10 minutes by bus, which stop very close to the cottage, or 25/30 minutes lovely river walk or by taxi The cottage is on Bridgethorpe Road which is very rural and just a 10 minute walk into the village of Bridgethorpe, where there are are 3 fabulous pubs all serving a good variety of food. The cottage is quiet and quite private. It sits separate from the caravan park. Manor Farm Cottage is one of the best places we have stayed, it has sufficient room for two adults, and is fully equipped with quality furnishings. It has a lovely wet room with underfloor heating, a comfy lounge, and an outdoor eating area which we made full use of. The whole estate is very well looked after and maintained by our perfect hosts who were mega helpful and friendly. They even let us raid their apple tree, which made delicious stroodle and pie when I got home !! Thanks Fay. Highly recommend.

The accommodation was quiet, clean, comfortable, well kitted out and furnished to a good standard. The only downside if you consider it a downside was that there was no wi fi . It is in an ideal location if you are going to York Racecourse and is close enough to York centre , I would fully recommend it.

The cottage has the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! It’s a great base for exploring the area. There are a few pubs and hotels around if you don’t want to cook in the cottage. The owners have a deal with the local taxi firm to take you in and out of York. Highly recommend The Cottage at Manor Farm. Very peaceful and quiet, most enjoyable.
